Tim has a new team of multiboxed World of Warcraft characters:  4x Priests  (Discipline)  1x Pally (Protection)

The goal of this team is to do absolutely insane AOE damage in instance pulls while staying relatively unscathed.  Individually, a Priest using Holy Nova to DPS in an instanced would typically be laughed at while the other players click confirmation on the group kick option.  However, when four Priests are multiboxed together with a Protection Paladin, the end result is nothing less than amazing.

Below is a video of the carnaged wrecked in the first Burning Crusade instance:  Ramparts

Here is the general strategy and a 35 minute video:

  • Firstly, I am using the Pwnboxer multiboxing software heavily in the area of Dockable Clickmapping, which are the buttons located on the actual game screen.  The Dockable Clickmapping is basically a virtual programmable keyboard and is an absolute godsend to multiboxing.
  • Before each pull I will Power Word: Shield my Paladin, and with 1 button stack up 4 Renews.
  • I then will aggro as many mobs as possible, often 15-20 elites of the same level.  While aggroing I will press my Pain Suppression button, which I can cast 4 times due to round-robin macros, which cause the Paladin to take 40% less damage.
  • Once I have a gigantic array of mobs together, I simply roll my face over the num9 key.
  • The Numpad Nine Key:   This button is broadcasted in the Pwnboxer dual-box software across all 5 guys.  On my 4x Priests, this will spam Holy Nova over and over again, healing the entire party for a massive amount of health, while doing a combined insane damage to all mobs, often in excess of 8k DPS.   On my 1x Prot Pally, the 9 button is for a castsequence macro to do the following:  Consecration, Hammer of Righteousness, Holy Shield, and Avenger’s Shield.

This takes place on the Blackrock-US server, in the guild <BUT MOM IM MULTIBOXING>.

  1. Doousham says:

when i heard of this team i thought thats awesome i had been toying with a 5x pally or priest team, and decided to copy you its working well so far even before they have nova’s.

  2. Tim says:

Heck yea, once you hit level 20 and get Holy Nova the team becomes an unstoppable killing machine. Right now I am level 64 and still blasting through all instances.

  3. Doousham says:

just did first random dungon(rfc) was so much fun (though its an easy dungon ie one boss to get the credit) it still was actually easyer to get exp in a dungon then time wise doing quest. i just hope now that blizzard will this week activate my darn recruit a friend bonus on my accounts so i can fly through the levels. been a month of 5x accounts and not a single bit of bonus exp out side of rested exp.

  4. Tim says:

At first it is going to be hard for sure on this group.

Before 20, your pally won’t be able to hold aggro, your priests won’t have holy nova, everything will really be tough.

But once you hit 20, put the party hat on :)

  5. Blu3monkey says:

Why won’t the video start for me?

  6. Doousham says:

it starts for me just fine, theres like a 1-2 second pause then it starts up…

btw got 20 today tim, and didnt try an instance (dont have time for the wc it keeps throwing me to) but tryed some spam pulls and nova’s mana cost dosent seem that bad i mean the toons are bearly geting int on their gear cep one of the priest who has sfk robe with 9 int.

  7. Tim says:

I wouldn’t worry too much about the mana costs. Once you reach a little higher level, you will be doing 10-20 elites in instances and still have 40-50% of your mana left.

Right now my team is 66 and I am killing Sethekk Hall which has 68/69 elites, and I still have 50% mana left after every pull.

By the time I loot the mobs, all my mana is regenned from drinking :)

  8. Dunn9220 says:

hey hey i’m calling all the way from dear old blighty and i must say your program is excellent i’m running the same team all with RAF and wow the xp is free flowing i was wondering do you use a tanking macro for your pally i’m using one and it’s pretty ok

  9. Tim says:

Heck yea thanks for the kind words!

For my Pally tank macro, from what I remember I did a /castsequence of Avenging Shield, Consecrate, a few judges, and another pally shield spell thingy. I forgot the name, its been a while, but literally just that, 1 button, easy as pie.

What is multiboxing?

Multiboxing is a term used to denote one user playing multiple accounts simultaneously. Typically you will have 1 player controlling multiple characters at the same time.

For example, in World of Warcraft, 1 person may be controlling 5 Shamans at the same time.
