I do think I understand how this works and why, and it looks pretty cool. Just waiting for a chance (heavy raid schedule) to start playing with this! But I do still have questions on the macros. Believe it or not, I got three toons to 80 without ever using a macro, so I'm waaaayyyy behind on how to do effective macros. I'm really only now using them on my mage, and still haven't found a need for them (other than focus) on my ret pally (main) or dk. The team that I will be working the most with, will be a lvl32 BM hunter using wow insiders beast mastery 101 spec http://www.wow.com/2010/02/01/scatte...t-mastery-101/, and a lvl30 (for right now) priest using the energizer smite spec from wowhead http://www.wowhead.com/forums&topic=101234. Essentially, I pre-shield, open with holy fire, and spam smite. I'd want to be able to heal with the priest of course, as well as deal damage. And I do like to use hunter's mark and send the pet in to attack. Can the group help me set up the specific macros I'd need for this? And help explain to a macro noob what the various parts of them mean and do? This is an area of the game that I would very much like to learn. Using the excellent format from the ip, please help me fill this in for my two toons. I can comfortably spam all day at two per second. I'll fill these in in red as I work on this. For my hunter: Procedure Our master macro is typically placed on the first button of the default action bar. My warlock's master macro is: #show Chaos Bolt What exactly is this line for? <Insert Assist Method, or Omit line if using FTL> /Click MultiBarRightButton1 /Click MultiBarRightButton2 /Click MultiBarRightButton3 /Click MultiBarRightButton4 /Click MultiBarRightButton5 Macro on Button 1 #showtooltip Curse of the Elements /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Curse of the Elements,Null Macro on Button 2 Macro on Button 3 Macro on Button 4 #showtooltip Chaos Bolt /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=combat Chaos Bolt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Macro on Button 5 #showtooltip Incinerate /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /cast [nochanneling] Incinerate For my priest (dps): Procedure Our master macro is typically placed on the first button of the default action bar. My warlock's master macro is: #show Holy Fire/assist {hunter} /Click MultiBarRightButton1 /Click MultiBarRightButton2 /Click MultiBarRightButton3 /Click MultiBarRightButton4 /Click MultiBarRightButton5 Macro on Button 1 #showtooltip PowerWord:Shield /cast PowerWord:Shield Macro on Button 2 #showtooltip Holy Fire /cast Holy Fire /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Holy Fire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Macro on Button 3 #showtooltip Smite /cast Smite /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=combat Smite,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Macro on Button 4 Macro on Button 5 For my priest (heals): Procedure Our master macro is typically placed on the first button of the default action bar. My warlock's master macro is: #show Chaos Bolt /assist {hunter} /Click MultiBarRightButton1 /Click MultiBarRightButton2 /Click MultiBarRightButton3 /Click MultiBarRightButton4 /Click MultiBarRightButton5 Macro on Button 1 #showtooltip Curse of the Elements /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Curse of the Elements,Null Macro on Button 2 #showtooltip Immolate /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=target Immolate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, /use 13 /use 14 /cast [pet:imp] Firebolt Macro on Button 3 #showtooltip Conflagrate /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=combat Conflagrate,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Macro on Button 4 #showtooltip Chaos Bolt /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /castsequence [nochanneling] reset=combat Chaos Bolt,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Macro on Button 5 #showtooltip Incinerate /cast [mod, nochanneling] Drain Soul /cast [nochanneling] Incinerate I am open to other specs for both toons, although I did work hard enough and long enough to get the pet (Ghost Saber) that I don't really want to lose it. I am not really familiar or comfortable yet with either class having always been a pally or a mage. The original idea was just to play a couple other classes and see what happens Last edited by gromdred; 05-04-2010 at 03:41 PM.

The #show line, will display a desired spell from your own class. In the case of my destruction warlock click, the master click macro (which is spammed) will display the Chaos Bolt icon. For a hunter, you might want to use Arcane Shot, Multi-Shot, Auto Shot or something like that, on the spammed macro which just includes assorted /click type commands. That way, you know it is an attack key. It will function just fine, as a red questionmark, but for aesthetics an attack icon from that class is good. Similarly for the priest, use something like #show Smite or #show Mindblast. For a Marksman Hunter, you'll probably want something like this: 1 - Serpent Sting (Commas to refresh as it expires; once you get Chimera Shot change this to /castsequence Serpent Sting,Null as Chimera Shot will refresh your current Sting). 2 - Arcane Shot (Commas to recast when the cooldown ends, I believe every 6 seconds). 3 - Multi-Shot (Commas to recast when the cooldown allows). 4 - Chimera Shot (Commas to recast, I believe every 10 seconds). 5 - Steady Shot (as the Fall-through, so this is the last spell and is not a castsequence). That means the master (spammed) macro, will have five /click lines in it. The first four will point to castsequences (not sure you'll have Chimera Shot yet, so leave the fourth button which will be clicked empty for now, and drag the Chimera Shot castsequence macro into that slot once you have the shot). The fifth click will be Steady Shot.

Okay, I'm not very smart or quick I have the basic idea working, but nowhere near well enough to actually play. I need some very specific help.I have the basic master macro working... the problem is with the individual macros for the two toons. I sort of have one or two of them working, but overall nothing is really working. Here's what I'd like to do with them... (hunter is the master) Hunter: Place hunter's mark on a target Send in the pet to attack Shoot Auto Shot Shoot Serpent Sting Shoot Arcane Shot (spam) Priest: Cast Power Word:Shield Cast Holy Fire Cast Smite (spam) Here is what I have so far: Priest: Master Macro #show Holy Fire /Click ActionButton1 /Click ActionButton2 /Click ActionButton3 Shield Macro #showtooltip Power Word: Shield /cast Power Word: Shield Holy Fire Macro (does not work - says unknown unit) - Is a 2 second cast time /cast Holy Fire Smite Macro (does not work) - is a 2.5 second cast time /cast Smite Hunter Master Macro #show Arcane Shot /Click ActionButton1 /Click ActionButton2 /Click ActionButton3 Pet Attack #showtooltip Hunter's Mark /cast hunter's Mark /cast petattack Serpent Sting #showtooltip Serpent Sting /cast Serpent Sting Arcane Shot #showtooltip Arcane Shot /cast Arcane Shot Please Help! Like I said in my previous post, I'm a complete macro noob Last edited by gromdred; 05-05-2010 at 10:24 AM.

| Super Moderator | Try something like this for the hunter... Code: /petattack /castsequence Hunter's Mark, Serpent String /castsequence reset=target Arcane Shot For the priest... Code: /target [TOON NAME] /cast Power Word: Shield /assist /cast Holy Fire /castsequence reset=target Smite |

I'll give this a try. Thank you. Except, in looking at these, how would they work with the /click format above?

Hunter: I always have my mark/petattack macro on its OWN key. I also have Multi-Shot in my rotation, but I am tailoring this for you. (1) #show Hunter's Mark /cast Hunter's Mark /petattack (2) #show (whatever spell icon you like) /Click BarButtonA /Click BarButtonB /Click BarButtonC (BarButtonA) #show Serpent String /castsequence reset=target Serpent String,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (BarButtonB) #show Arcane Shot /castsequence reset=combat Arcane Shot,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, (BarButtonC) #show Auto Shot /cast !Auto Shot Priest: You shouldn't need to worry about shields unless you happen to be in a ground. Your pet should maintain aggro just fine. For the sake of this setup, I assume you want to shield your pet on pull. (1) /cast target=(name of pet) Power Word: Shield (2) /assist (Hunter's Name) /Click BarButtonA /Click BarButtonB (BarButtonA) #show Holy Fire /castsequence reset=combat Holy Fire,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ,,,, (BarButtonB) #show Smite /cast Smite #show S
