Default Spread out party

I have seen in some of the videos slaves spreading out to minimize AOE spells and such. How is this accomplished? Im a rank noober on macros in WOW and stumble over my own work.

Its just keybinding movement keys to each toon. (games menu, keybindings)
eg, left arrow makes toon one strife right, toon two strife left, toon 3 move backwards, toon 4 move foreword

i use

Main - H = Backwards
toona - H = Strafe Left
toonb - H = Strafe Right

then broadcast key H (or key of your choice)
then when it comes to it hold down H for a second and you will move into a formation
Be sure not to change ASDW!

1 key is bound to different movement keys on each character.

EXAMPLE:

the key we will use is F1

Toon1: F1 = Strafe Left
Toon2: F1 = Strafe Right
Toon3: F1 = Run Forward
Toon4: F1 = Backwards

so what you will get when you press this key is some awesome anti AoEness.

Here's my setup. Note: I use a G11 keyboard.

Main: <no special bindings>
Toon1: Alt+F1 = Strafe Left, Alt+F3 = Move Backwards
Toon2: Alt+F1 = Strafe Left, Alt+F2 = Move Backwards
Toon3: Alt+F1 = Strafe Right, Alt+F3 = Move Backwards
Toon4: Alt+F1 = Strafe Right, Alt+F2 = Move Backwards

For all toons (except main), I've unmapped the arrow keys for movement.

Then, on my G11, I've bound the following:
G16 = Alt+F3
G17 = Alt+F1
G18 = Alt+F2

For a normal spread out, I press G17+G18.

I can mash G16 + G18 to back up all of my toons at the same time.

It's useful to have a separate strafe key for your alts as well.
