Seeing your slaves gathering resources on your master's map?

Is there any addon that let's do that? I have a herbalist, and a miner as my slaves and my master is a skinner. I would like to be able to see the ores and herbs on my master's minimap. Is there an addon for that? If not, what's the best workaround?

Unfortunately, addons cant read tracking dots on the minimap. Granted I never did get this working right(mostly due to low res on the slaves and odd zoom mapping), but its possible to use PwnBoxer's zooming feature to create a small window zoomed in on a slave's minimap.

In Cataclysm, we will be able to simultaneously track multiple resource types at once. So your main could be both a herbalist and a miner.

As far as resource gathering goes, you would want your main to be a tailor (for the extra cloth), or to have your tailor interact-with-target for every single mob type that drops cloth.

When you are poor, gathering professions are one of the best means to make some gold.

Once you have gold to work with, gathering professions are a waste of time, in that you can just buy resources off of the AH, create your item and sell it. Granted the profit per piece is less then gathering the resources yourself. But with the saved time, you can sell 50x as many combined items or perform transmutes, and make 100x the gold per time invested.

I have each slave tracking own resource.

Its MUCH easier, to me, to have slaves do just collecting, and you do tailoring/skinning.

If you go with a resource per toon, consider the addon "Mappy".

You can resize the minimap to whatever dimensions you like.
And can set resources which you track to strobe flash yellow/blue.
Quite noticeable.

In addition to this, I always have one of my slaves (or my main instead of skinning) do Enchanting.

Can you say $$$$$$$$$$$ towards level 80???

Enchanting mats, will almost always sell for more then vendoring an item.
The only exception seems to be items which DE into crystals from previous expansions.

Abyss Crystals are the thing now, but Void Crystals don't sell for anything really.
In an expansion, items which DE into Abyss Crystals, will vendor better then they DE.

Still, leveling up, you'll make a ton with DE's over vendoring rewards.
And you'll want at least one member of each group able to DE the rewards -- that way nothing is wasted.

For a while there, I was doing Arbitrage.

Buying items on the AH, mostly 71-80 greens.
All I cared about was item level, color and type (weapon or armor).

Had plugged all the DE possibilities into a spread sheet.
So, I could enter the average current price of Infinite Dust, Greater/Lesser Cosmic Essences and Dream Shards.
And then know at what price point, a green was worth buying.

Was going well, for a couple of months.
Made a little over 100k.
But got boring too.
My AH mule, has over 20k items disenchanted.

There is definitely gold in disenchanting.

I've found that with multiboxing, gathering professions become a waste. You get more gold multiboxing dailies and farming heroics.
