| Ok I was wondering if in an instance I could set my pet to protect the tank or group members. secondly, idk if this is a bug but I can go from immolate>shadow bolt>corruption and corruption will start the CD it seems like only instants are triggering GCD. Was this a patch change?

| You can put your pet onto defensive, but I would recommend passive mode. If you want, you could treat the pet as a Crowd Control option. Target the mob with your main, have the warlock/hunter assist the main and set it as their focus. Then have a macro where the crowd control (in this case the off-tanking pet) is targeted at the warlock/hunter's focus. Each of the spells should trigger the GCD. |

| Thanks for the post. I was also wondering if there was an addon to manage pets so I can use ctrl 1-0 for other stuff Only my Insta dots are triggering GCD...I kind of like being able to get off tons of spells before I have to wait.

| If a spell takes longer then the GCD to cast, you can cast the next spell as soon as it finishes casting. Is that what you mean, by not triggering the GCD? |

| Were you able to cast six Shadowbolts, two Searing Panes, and a Rain of Fire all in under 1.5 seconds? At it's lowest rank (or when you first gain it, under the new system) Shadow Bolt has a 1.71 second casting time, according to wow wiki. That means, by the time the cast has finished, the minimum delay until another spell can cast (the GCD) has already passed. When you cast in instant cast spell, you also have to wait 1.5 seconds for the GCD to pass (modified downwards by Haste, Talents and Glyphs). If it took you 2 seconds per Shadowbolt, and 3 seconds to cast your pair of Searing Pains, and you channeled the Rain of Fire for longer then 1.5 seconds, then it wasn't that there was no GCD, it was that the cast/channel time was longer then the GCD so while the spell incurred the GCD you did not notice. |
