Need Help With 5Multibox Looting

Hey Guys,

I'm currently finding it hard with my new multiboxing experience. The problem i'm having is the looting, Im in my starting area and need to quest upto level 14 before moving to instances. Now I have done my homework before making this post, I now know about Interact with Target which is binded to my ctrl button and then I noticed that I then have to bind a key to simulate the left click on my mouse, then I have to manually select "click with binded button" each item in the loot which is also multiplied x5 on all toons, even though with these "grind & loot a certain object" quests only one of the toons will get that item.
Add to that that if you have to kill 10 mobs in order to get x items from loot for the quest to be completed for it to be multiplied x5 which = 50 mobs killed (assuming the droprate for that item is 100%)

I have looked on the forums and other places too and for crying out I cannot find an easier way, I even tried fubar autoloot which didn't even work for me but even then Id still have to strike multiple sequences of keys just to get the dam toons to loot.

Isin't there any easier way of doing this guys because i'm starting to see that multiboxing is causing me to take even longer to complete a quest so I can benefit from the 300% exp via RAF. The whole point in this multiboxing is to make it easier & quicker to level lol.

Any ideas or suggestions would be great. Thank you all in advance.

How I loot:

1. Ensure "Click to Move(mouse option)" and "Auto Loot" are enabled in WoW Interface Options
2. Ensure "Interact with Target" is bound to a key
3. Target dead mob with my main
4. Hit my /assist key which make all my slaves assist my main and target the dead mob as well.
5. Hit my IWT target key.
6. Watch as all my slave toons loot the dead mob. One of them will get they quest item first (unless its a quest with an item that drops for ALL toons) but once that toon doesn't need any more quest items, it will only show up in the other toons loot window.

I use the same technique muffinman just described. I don't think there is anything more efficient. The collection quests are a major pain as you are trying to collect on 5 toons. It gets a tad easier if your main was a skinner and the collection quest involves skinnable creatures. Here is what I do:
- I make sure my master has completed the quest
- I continue to kill mobs and whenever I am NOT able to skin the dead mob, this is my cue that it has a quest item for my other toons
- I hit assist then ITW button
- Skin the mob after one of the slaves picked up the item

Repeat until all the toons have the item. This cuts down on having to switch screens or squint at your slave's windows.

The other technique is to just avoid collection quests like the plague

Some quests allow everyone to loot.

In which case, you target with the main, assist with the others, and interact (as mentioned above).

Other times, you'll just PiP switch to the next window, when the first is done. And loot there until you finish a quest.

It's pretty much a combination of the two, depending on what is easiest for your current activity.

hehe I feel so stupid now, I looked around in the forum and found that one of the FAQ guides had the loot answer in it regarding Click to Move, I just forgot to update this thread.
been putting together a new server today so been quite busy swapping between company stuff & WOW
