Ok, quick question. I presently run a 5 man team of mixed classes, 1 Death knight (Tank), 1 Priest (Healer), 1 Warlock (Dps), 1 Shaman (Dps, Backup Heal), 1 Hunter (Dps). What i'm running into is a way to stop the ranged members while taking the tank into melee range. I have been brainstorming this for a little bit and come up with very little. Short of breaking follow with the ranged dps and heals and continueing with the tank into melee range. Anyone know a easier way than that? Plus this team is also played separately by them selves, these are a combination of my wifes character and daughters and mine. So they get played separately and multi-boxed. I think i've solved a couple of problems I ran into by making my lead character also its own focus that way the spells still cast. I will probably have more questions, I'm also creating a 5 man team of the same class for playing around with and relaxing in comparison to my mixed team.

The only way to break follow in this situation is to tap a movement key. I have keys that are bound to the movement of only my followers, So I often tap it right before I run in.

I was having issues with this as well. What I've been doing is bound a key that I can hit that will make my ranged follow each other. i.e shift+4 makes slave b follow slave c, slave c follow slave b, etc. then you can just run off into melee with the tank, use your interact with target key to get the slaves to be able to cast spells etc and run through your normal routine. It's prolly not the greatest way to do things, but it seems to work.

you could just have a second key that makes (only) the casters move back. the melee will keep on following. or you could have a secondary IWT key that you only set on the melee. When entering combat tap your formation key, then tap that second IWT key

Would you advice using your tank always as the master? It would seem that would be the best option.

that's how i do it, it's the most mobile and often most important component of your group. If he dies, all die
