Default Macro to heal the most appropriate friendly.

Well I used to use this in raids on my shaman. It's pretty useful, but I was looking at one of tim's threads and someone said that theres no way for a macro to target someone with the lowest health and heal it (something along those lines), which made me remember this macro.

What exactly does "most appropriate friendly" mean you might ask?

In order of priority: target (friendly), mouseover (friendly), player
Allows you to keep your current target while healing a friendly (mouseover them or their profile) or yourself (do nothing), while still acting like a normal cast (friendly targets have priority).

Quote:
#showtooltip (Insert healing spell here)
/cast [help,exists] [target=mouseover,help,exists] [target=player] (insert healing spell here)
I can't remember where I found this it was awhile ago when I still had my resto shaman.

Anyways....I hope it helps you.

**Also, this can definently be altered to do some pretty cool stuff.

Looks great!

These super complex macros make me giggle. My setup must be too simple =P

I am so confused as to what/how exactly this macro does what it does.

Please break it down for a simpleton like me!

Okay, lets say you're running a heroic. But you are 4boxing and have a friend tanking, Just like you had your friend doing that with you in UK (non-heroic). Well, lets say he has the LEAST amount of health, this macro will heal him. But lets say one of your hunters has even less health, it recognizes that and will continue to target your hunter and heal that hunter until another target is lower health than it.

Also, as for some priority exists, meaning that you're target will always come before you're mouseover target.

Therefore you can have a mouseover on someone without removing that mouseover but heal your hunter if he all of a sudden pulls aggro and needs big time help, then the tank pulls aggro back got hit really hard then it will automatically switch to him.

It's really hard to explain, and I'm sure comprehend so you might want to just test it out. I never FULLY understood it either because I never messed around with its priorities.

Well the thing is, where in the macro does it say to target the guy with the lowest health?

That is the part that confuses me

I'm going to use that First aid quest you had to do in Dustwallow marsh as an example. If you didn't do it, then this won't really make sense, I think you had to do it to get past level 300 or something. Anyways, some soldiers were more hurt than others and they were priority so you had to bandage them first before anyone else or else you would fail the quest and restart.

So basically, where it says help, exists in the macro, it's asking itself if Help is needed, if it is, it sees if you have a target or mouseover, then does the priorities from there.

"Help" basically in the WoW macro language refers to the person that needs help THE MOST, in this case, the friendly player with the lowest health.

I guess that's just how the game recognizes help.

That just isnt true. The help conditional simply determines whether or not beneficial spells can be cast on the target. There is also nothing else in that macro that determines unit health.

Could you cite the source of your information?
