Help a noob out on 5box char.

I apparently am confused with this whole macro thing..lol

I read that post on beginnings guide to macros..but its confusing when it says "assign this to F12". How the heck do you do that, under key bindings you can't assign certain spells?

I can't get keys i press to broadcast to other char for anything. :/ This is what i did so far..

Using 2 char as example.
slave: /focus vyxar assigned to 5, then /follow and /assist focus to 6/7 keys.

what next?

I think im missing a simple yet important step..

Get Bartender4 (curse.com). Then go into the bartender options and you can assign keystrokes to each bartender bar spot. Then in that keystroke, put a macro.

If you're within the warcraft client, pressing escape brings up the default menu.
Keybindings is an option here.

Scrolling down a ways, you will find sections for each of the bars.

In Interface Options you can set which bars will be visible.



Bartender and Dominos are the most commonly used bar addons now.
Macaroon is far stronger then either, but the author has stopped support so it will break eventually.

It's a tough call on whether to use a bar addon or not.

The addons are a lot prettier, and you can create a bar this many buttons long, and then position it wherever you want. WoW defaults to six bars, with up to five of them visible, and each is exactly 12 buttons long.

The only real advantage to the wow default bars, is that they never break on major patches, so you can play right away. When bongos/bartender/dominos/macaroon break, wow is essentially unplayable until the addon is updated -- which sometimes takes a few days.

I will be getting one of those xkey pads for sure. So many macros. Everytime I fight i mob i think of a new macro that would help out. lol

One question about leveling, i'm trying out a warrior/4 priest setup right now. It seems to be fine. But, the warrior can't really do anything cause priests pretty much kill everything before they get to him (smite). Should i be mixing it up starting with warrior fighting then having priests just heal me instead?

I'm running something a bit similar.
Paladin with 4x Shamans.

If I press my 1 key, the paladin has a castsequence, and the shammies have a click sequence (which is like a castsequence but runs several at once, in priority).

If I press my 1 key with a modifier like Alt, only the shamans cast, which saves the paladin mana.

If you can kill things at range, that will probably be faster then running up to them with the warrior. Your current set up looks like (Tank) for when something is tough, with 4x dps/healer hybrids, so most of your damage is not the tank anyway.

Possibly consider adding a Death Knight to the group in the upper 50's. A DK gets a talent which increases the parties spell power by 13%, which is very nice for a caster based group.

But go with whatever is more fun.

If you're not hurting on gold, consider doing this:

Whoever leads, turn on master looter.
And then Opt out of loot.
And set the threshold to greens or above.

This will have nothing sparkle, unless there are greens, blues or purples on it.
In which case it sparkles so you can master loot.

If you're hurting on gold, then loot everything.
Vendor the grays, which adds up fast.
And auction house the cloth.

Yah im hurting on gold, but the loot thing is annoying me. For some reason if i set master loot, but opt out, the others get the loot but it fills one up, then another, etc.

I will get a hang on it, I was worried my internet problems would stop be from hitting 20 before trial is up, but i'm already 6. So prob make it to 20 anyways. lol

Ok i'm running into the problem of so many keys on slaves bound to something else now.

Is it safer just to remove all key bindings from slaves screen, and just rely on ones you add + ones already in pwnboxer?

I think i'm going to get separate folders for each wow slave, so as to not get adsons all messed up and keyboard configs are easier to find.

to do list:
Setup up a proper way to heal each char in group with priests.
Assign one key for mana and heal items for each.
Better aggro management setup,having trouble dealing with 2-3 targets at a time.
Not to buy anything this week so i can get 5 WoW accounts. I doubt i can make it to best buy for that $5 deal. :/ (if anyone reads this and gets WoW for $5 at bestbuy, pick me up 5 copies for cd keys please i will gladly pay you back)
