Ground Target macro for Mages?

So i have some AE damage spells now on my mages, the problem is they require you to target the ground. Anyone know keyboard shortcuts that let you target right next to character?

I thought I could hit spell hotkey, then target self, and it would cast around me. But does not work.

You used to be able to target, via a mini-map ping location. Blizzard removed this functionality from the game, about a year back.

Ranged AoE's generally require a ground click.

Most of the boxing software allows you to "broadcast" your mouse click. Some software scales all the windows at full resolution, which allows for extremely accurate mouse broadcasting. Other options, will actually PiP swap somewhat quickly between each window, and get five clicks (say a 5x mage team) off in 3-5 seconds. Most boxing options are between these two extremes. Precise clicks are very nice, but for AoE's, being close is generally good enough.

One trick that helps, is to synchronize your camera views across your team, when doing AoE's. You can manually set the views to be very close, and then save the view (5 saves are available, you can hotkey to save them in keybindings). Then you can preface your ground target AoE with: /script SetView(3);SetView(3), which will give everyone the same (saved) camera angle/zoom etc.

Well the mouse broadcasting is not accurate, the icons appear different on all toons.

I never have any problems with views so thats not a issue, its just the targeting part.

I'm not sure what you mean by icons.

Sure, the icon for Blizzard and Hurricane are different.
But both spells have a ground-target circle, which we position.

If you are broadcasting your mouse, and the toons views are the same.
Then clicking with one, will have the other click relatively closely.

I mean the postion of the icons on slaves toons, the mouse does not match out with them.

I think i found a way to do this, still exp with it atm.

If by "icons" you mean "target circles that appear on the ground" they would only not line up if you do not have the camera's synced in same position across all toons.

If that is the case then what he is saying doesn't make sense, because they don't need to line up since you activate the spell via keypresses through Pwnboxer.

No you don't. :P

You enable mouselook, and have to physically press the button on action bar with cursor on other screens. You can not just press button because it needs a target the ground.

That is the whole problem, it takes a lot of steps to use GT spells.
Using F1 keys as example i have to.
f1 Enable mouselook
f2 Icestorm (or whatever)
..move mouse over to slaves..press area on ground for GT spell
F2 again.
Then f1 to disable mouselook or whatever key.

Actually using the spell requires 2 actions..no including moving mouse curser to other screen.

You do not have to click a button on the actionbar with your mouse.

On some mages I played I had blizzard on all of them bound to "9".

I hit 9 on my keyboard (which brings up the targeting circle on them all), and used mouse broadcasting (their cameras were all in sync) to click a spot on the ground on my main and within several pixes, they all targeted that spot.

I am still failing to see what your issue is.

Can you take some screenshots step by step or something?
