"Global" Bag Addon?

Is any addon that communicates between bags from different accounts? I have 3 accounts, and a total 9 character for now.. and it is getting hard to keep track of materials.

I've heard you can do this with altaholic.
There is an option to communicate with each account.
Someone was asking about that on the other site, and altaholic was given as an answer.

I don't use it myself, so not totally positive on that.

I checked that addon, and it only works for alts from the same acct.. from their description "- View containers (bags, bank, keyring) of all alts, on all realms.", I need something to view bags from different accounts.

From posts on the other site, it seems the addon can in fact share information between accounts.

Thanks to that addon I can finally search for trade skill or item anywhere across all my accounts and toons - It also keeps fun totals/stats so I now know I spend 302d played time and have 1704 levels total across my accounts on my main server, etc...

The support for multi account is very new and I got a couple of lua / nil errors after transfer of data, but a /console reloadui fixes everything - and I filled those tickets with the dev which seems to be very active so I expect it will only get even more awesome as time passes - I place this addon very very high now on my list - almost as great as Jamba ! So I thought it was worth sharing !



And...

The notes say if you had any version before 3.000.6 you must delete your lua saved vars and relog all your alts (I think he changed the format to support multi account or something)

For account name I just use the equivalent of a1 a2... that shows up when you have all accounts in the drop down - for me it seems that it got all my data not partial (despite some lua errors I filled just after the transfer) - you initiate the transfer from your main and just need to click yes from slaves so I don't think it's a big deal ... but then it will go out of sync - I wish there was a way to transparently keep it in sync - also using multiple computers makes it go slightly out of sync - nevertheless its a lot of progress vs "I can't remember which toon / if any toon has some iron ore..." now I just search and it tells me toon23 in his mail/bank/bags

Altoholic is very nice. It allows you to share everything in your bank, guild bank and inventory across accounts. It also allows you to search. For example, I can enter "Runecloth" in the search and see I have 7 in my Main's bags, 3 in the bags of an alt on my main account, 5 in the bags of a toon on another of my accounts and it also lists the recipes that my tailor {also another account} has with "runecloth" in the name.

You can also look at any tradeskill on any toon in your guild, money, talents, guild banks, regular banks, gear, specs, glyphs...pretty much anything. Oh, it'll also tell you when cooldowns are about to expire for things like transmutes and instance locks.

It's not exactly lightweight, and updating can take a while if you're sharing a lot of information {you must share manually, it won't auto-update}. and I don't think there's anything you can do to customize it, but it's a very easy interface to use and has so much information it's kinda daunting.



And:

To get the information from Acct 2 on to Acct 1, you have to share it over. I do it once every few days when I'm taking a flight or waiting on daily resets. Unless you have huge and constant turnovers of items, there's not really much need to do it all the time.

I can personally confirm that. I have been an altoholic user for ages, and while having to remember to send the data over regularly is a little annoying, having ALL the data (inc skills data, achievements etc) about ALL your toons in a single interface is very handy

Well, now I need something that integrates this addon with the crafting system.. so I can see easily who have the required/extra mats.. I'm using Skillet Trade Skills right now.

Altoholic should do this automatically as long as you mouse over the items in the recipe. It enhances the tooltip code to list who's carrying what mats. By default it doesn't include the bags/banks of toons on other accts but that can be enabled in the options.
