Arrow Extremely Useful Addons for Multiboxing

Note: Tim accidentally deleted the original post, so replies were lost as well. On the flipside, I posted it in the right forum this time!

---

Here is a list of addons that I use and would likely not multibox without. Some of these are very small, while others are fairly large. All are awesome (and some have awesome alternatives)

Jamba Addon - This addon is a multiboxers best friend. It takes the ideas of Multiboxer / v2, Two-box toolkit, and a few other addons, and then makes them into this beautiful work of art. Without this mod, sure multiboxing can still be done, but this makes things so much easier that multiboxing without it is like eating cake with a spoon.

Ackis Recipe List - Addons - Curse - With multiboxing, it is likely you will have your toons all doing different things. Enchanting, Tailoring, Jewelcrafting, etc. This mod allows you to see what recipes you are missing AND where to get them. Not a requirement, but definitely helpful.

ArkInventory - Addons - Curse - ArkInventory allows you to first combine all your bags into a single keypress bag, and also to sort your items in many many ways. I use this for different spec gear on my main, as well as sorting out trash/profession items/quest items/etc.

Atlas - Addons - Curse
OR
Cartographer - Addons - Curse - I personally use Atlas Loot and Cartographer. Atlas is a great alternative to Cartographer. They are both map mods, and both allow boss information. Atlas is better looking while cartographer I believe works better with mods like Gatherer. I would not be caught dead without one of these (no alt-tabbing to instance maps Tim )

BugSack - Addons - Curse - Displays any LUA errors in an easy to read window. Allows you to scroll through bugs instead of them taking your screen space. (Requires !BugGrabber - Addons - Curse)

AutoBar - Addons - Curse - This will give you an automatic bar with consumables, quest items, trinkets, etc, all available on a bar separate from any other bar mod. The awesome thing about Autobar is that it provides the best item available when using. Bandages, potions, food, water, etc. I have been using this for ages, and with a key cloning device (Software or Hardware) this becomes a must have. Everyone sit and eat at my mage table!

Dominos - Addons - Curse
OR
Bartender4 - Addons - Curse - These will allow you to configure your interface with many many buttons, all easily configurable and keybindable. I perfer Dominos, but Bartender rocks too

EquipCompare : WoWInterface Downloads : Bags, Bank, Inventory Mods - This is a mod that allows you to compare what you are hovering over/viewing with what you have on. Its good... but it is made even better with....

RatingBuster - Addons - Curse - This addon allows you to actually see changes new gear will give you. Have something on with +5 int, and find the same slot item with +8 int, and this will show you that you will gain +3 int from equipping it! It does a TON more too... but still, these two will get full awesomeness when you also use......

Examiner - Addons - Curse - This mod allows you to quickly and easily see the inspected toons gear, talents, glyphs (if they have examiner as well), etc. You can also cache this information. This is great for determining which alt gets what loot easily, without ever having to change windows. Of course, changing windows and confirming might be your cup of tea. I prefer this method.

FuBar 3.6 - Addons - Curse - Fubar is an information consolidation mod. I prefer to keep it at the top of the screen for easy access

LightHeaded : WoWInterface Downloads : Quest/Leveling/Reputation Mods - This mod displays quest information and comments from WoWHead. Yeah, Tim's old site =) This helps tons. It is NOT a replacement for QuestHelper/Carbonite (which I dont like), and works awesome in conjunction with.....

TourGuide : WoWInterface Downloads : Tekkub's Emporium of Random Crap along with WoW Pro levelling guides (Alliance or Horde, friggin amazing guides btw) - These guides will help you level faster and more efficiently than QuestHelper or Carbonite ever could (my opinion of course). Use them both.

nQuestLog - Addons - Curse - Allows you to easily see both your quests and progress and your slaves, so long as they all have the addon as well. Makes keeping track of gathering quests (when in combination with Jamba) that much easier.

Omen Threat Meter - Addons - Curse - I use Omen because my main toon is a Protadin. Granted, I can see threat easily with the next addon, but seeing where anything is for threat at a glance with a quick target change helps alot.

Aloft (Beta) : WoWInterface Downloads : Beta-version AddOns - DO NOT use the version on Curse, it is not updated! Aloft allows you to modify default blizzard nameplates. Only useful on the main toon, though if you switch mains in your setup alot this is awesome for all of them.

PitBull Unit Frames 3.0 - Addons - Curse - Pitbull is my preference by a wide margin for unit frames (not self casting bars, just party). Very customizable with DogTag included (I believe)

Quartz - Addons - Curse - Target, Player, Focus casting bars (and more). This mod includes local lag indication, so you can more effectively time your spellcasts based on your current toons latency. Has other options as well.

Recount - Addons - Curse - Allows at a glance combat information. DPS graphs, bandwidth, tracking of deaths/spells cast, etc. 'Nuff said.

SpamSentry - Anti goldspam - Addons - Curse AND/OR
SpamMeNot - Addons - Curse - I hate spam. So do you.

SpellBinder - Addons - Curse - Allows you to bind ANYTHING to a key, without a button required. There are alternatives, this works perfectly for me though.

Talented - Addons - Curse - Talented allows you to import, export, profile, save, and tweak your talents, without ever applying them until you want to. Blizzards in-game talent preview does nothing compared to this. Use it. Love it.

WIM (WoW Instant Messenger) v3 - Addons - Curse - This is AWESOME. Its like an inst... wait. It -IS- an instant messenger for inside WoW. You can have it save historical chat, tabbed chatting windows, etc. And with Jamba relaying incoming whispers to your main toon, this becomes a way to historically track who was talking to what. (I do not currently know if this works for GM messages as yet, but I think it does)

ZOMGBuffs - Addons - Curse - the final of my personal required addons, ZOMGBuffs is similar to AutoBuff, in that it sees missing buffs and prompts you (via sound or text or both) to rebuff. It misses some buffs sometimes, but for the most part this rocks.

Some of these addons require Ace2/3 - the ones that do should include them, but if they dont...
WoW AddOns - Ace2 - WowAce.com
WoW AddOns - Ace3 - WowAce.com

---

Those are the mods I personally use and require. You may or may not like some of these, and I am sure they all have alternatives above and beyond any I may have listed.

Now go forth and create your Multiboxing team!

great list here catreina, I personally prefere oUF for it's much smaller memory footprint compared to Pitbull. The only problem is to customize it, you must have some Lua knowledge.
I prefer the Caellian plug-in for oUF, it can be found here:
oUF Caellian : WoWInterface Downloads : oUF: Layouts

And oUF core can be found here:
oUF : WoWInterface Downloads : oUF: Core
(This is required for oUF Caellian to run as well as any other choice of oUF unit frame)

The great thing about many of the oUF unit frames have the accounting for latency in the built in cast bars.

Might I suggest:
  • Bagnon - Great all-in-one bag mod
  • Pawn - This allows you to create stat weightings (or import them from websites like elitist jerks, wowhead, shadowpanther etc...) and creates an item score. Really useful thing is that it can display multiple item valuing profiles so you can compare the values of off spec items. This works well in conjunction with Ratingbuster mentioned above.
  • VuhDo - This is similar to a grid and clique setup (or a more powerful healbot)except rolled into one and is extremely useful if your primary toon is a healer.

Ooooh - that is the one thing I am missing from my setup. However, how does oUF on Toon B tell oUF on Toon A that there is a 200ms latency for casting Smite?

that, I do not know, the oUF plug-in I am currently using only shows toon A's latency, but there may be a different one that shows toon B's as well.

Yeah, I dont think there is one that shows latency at the moment, at least not on party casting bars.

I think for anyone with multiple accounts or alts, this addon is necessary:

Altoholic: Allows you to view alternate characters or accounts information. Very detailed. Some of the things they lets you view are things such as all the characters gear, achievements, bag contents, gear, xp, and much more. Personally a favorite addon of mine

Also OneBag is a lightweight addon to combine all your bags in one.
Less complete than arkinventory but less demanding too so it might be a good solution for people who runs a lot of wow copies at once and want to save a little performance on addons.

P.S : I'll get a link as soon as i get back from work

Edit :
Here it is, OneBag3 : http://www.wowinterface.com/download...7-OneBag3.html
Also, you can do the same with the bank:
OneBank3 : http://www.wowinterface.com/download...-OneBank3.html

Another addon that can be useful if your changing your UI is tipsy.
Tipsy - Addons - Curse

It allows you to move the tool tip anywhere on the screen.
Its useful to me since i have my party frame in the lower right corner
