[WoW Guide] Interact with Target(Very Useful)

So I am pretty new to multiboxing, I tried once in the past but for some reason thought it was too hard... That was until I started watching Tim this past week and learned alot of new stuff and it peaked my interest to learn some more.

Alot of people may know about Interact with Target, but I haven't seen it covered yet.

I have been using the JAMBA addon for wow, basically makes alot of multiboxing things alot easier. Specifically I like one function, if you open up the quest dialog screen in all of your windows, then your slave windows will follow you along until you accept/complete a quest. If you have to choose rewards, you still have to do that manually.

So to take that one step forward, recently Blizz made a new protected keybind command called "Interact with Target" which makes takes out alot of hassle of multiboxing(did they do this just for us?)

Basically what it does is if you have a NPC targeted, you can hit a keybind to "Interact with Target" to open up quest dialog screens, vendors, and EVEN LOOT corpses!

So for example, you run up to a quest giver... Target it with your Master toon, hit an assist macro for your slaves so they have it targeted.... hit the key you have assigned to "Interact with Target"... and if you use Jamba for quests, just select the quest you want and accept... Waaalaa all of your toons have the quest.

My favorite use is those stinking collection quests that multiboxers hate so much, used to be such a PITA to switch screens and have your slaves loot.. Most of us avoided those quests like the plague, there are even guides out there for leveling by using as little of these quests as possible. So with the "Interact with Target", set your loot up to FFA, grab all the goods to complete the quest for your Master, then the rest of them do the /assist and "Interact with Target" keybind to have your others loot, only 1 at a time will get the item, but its better than skipping those quests all together.

You could use this to make selling your grays off to a vendor alot easier, repairing, restocking, etc etc....

This might be common knowledge, but I just thought I would share it down the line to other multiboxing noobs like myself!

There is a downside to this - I personally do not like Click to Move. If you do not use Click to Move, you have to be within activation distance for Interact to work.

It works with ANYTHING you can target. Skinning, looting, quest turnins (without rewards), etc. It will NOT work with non-targetable actions, such as mining, herbing, etc.

Gathering quests are manageable now =)

Any way to make a macro to switch between interact with target on/off ?

There can not be a macro to switch Interact with Target because Interact with Target is a protected function. This means you cannot use it in macros.
