| Oh god I would jump all over a DDR2 RAMDRIVE like a clown in a school outing. Imagine having 32 sticks of 2GB memory and accessing it at full PCI-X speeds? It would put my 250mb/sec SSD to shame. |

| Member | It would rock Tim. Seriously Vanguard was a very poorly optimized game and with moving some code to the RAM drive it took all the stutter that was caused accessing those folders out of the game. I experimented with this in Warhammer Age of Reckoning and I was in scenario battles so fast that it was like 5 sec before I'd see another toon lol. There are some solutions out there that allow you to build a large ram drive but of course they are pretty $$$ ![]() There is a free 4GB Ram drive software product out there I just for the life of me can't remember the name. |
