Hey guys, So im very new to multiboxing and may have already made a mistake or two. I have 2 main accounts A (85 warlock/20 sham) B (85 DK/20 sham) and I now have 3 slave accounts C (20 sham) D (20 sham) E (just made). The way I setup my RAF is as follows: A-C B-D. I also have acess to a friends account F (60mage) which I have been using to boost the shamans so far. I created E in hopes of moving the DK to it and using it as the boosting character. Unfortunately battlenet is saying the character isnt eligible until 1/12/11 so I have to wait a few days, I transferred it to the account its on now from my roommates account. My questions are as follows: with the 60 mage in very terrible gear how much farther can i reliably boost? Would it make sense to wait out the DK transfer or continue boosting since im loosing time on RAF? How much did my RAF chain mishap effect my level grants? I don't think its worth starting over C and D are already full versions so it would be wasted money. I'm thinking about doing a set of shaman, druid, pally, and possibly mage groups of 4 with the DK booster would I make the most use of my time until i get a reliable booster by doing the 1-20 with the other teams then boosting them all after the i get the DK onto E? Should i delete E and RAF it? Sorry for all the questions and if its in the wrong forum, thanks for your time, Robitussin

If your friend is playing the mage, they can boost you. If you are playing your friends mage, and anyone reports you (which happens fairly frequently when boxing), a GM will investigate and the first thing checked is that the names on all the accounts are the same. If they are, the GM moves on; but if they're not, there's a good chance all of the accounts get a warning or are outright banned for account sharing. Short answer, don't use your friends account. If you have A - C and B - D, I would decide who is the better booster, probably the 85 DK on B. So link the accounts like this: A - C B - D - E Then use the DK on B to boost ACDE. DE will be the same level for new toons, and such, so will have RAF benefits because of their links. For RAF you need: a) To be grouped with the account which you are RAF linked to. b) To be within a certain range of that account. c) To be within +/- 4 levels of the character they're on with. d) Both of you to be level 59 or lower. e) The mob or quest is not greyed out to either of you. Even if B is level 85, DE will have a valid RAF link. If you messed up on your RAF chain, customer service can fix it for you, for the cost of a phone call. Once an account is added to a battle net account, it cannot move characters to another account not on that battle net, for 30 days. If both accounts are on the same battle net email/account, you can move toons between them immediately.

Thanks for the reply Ualaa. Im still a bit confused when you say "Once an account is added to a battle net account, it cannot move characters to another account not on that battle net, for 30 days. If both accounts are on the same battle net email/account, you can move toons between them immediately." Does this mean I could create a new account on B's battle net and be able to move him to it immediately? Would I be able to log the characters on the account and the DK on the new account? Since its not within 30days since I moved the DK from another account does the lockout still take effect? So far I have a team of 4 Shamans lvl 20 and a team of Druid lvl 21. I have them all parked at SM atm. My friend is having trouble boosting in SM his gear is terrible and I think I wont be able to go much farther then SM with the 60 mage boosting. I'm debating now since I have tomorrow off as well wether or not I should give up on E and just create a new account on B's battle net or get a 3rd team up to 20-21 and ready to be boosted then on the 12th I can move the DK to E and go nuts trying to get them all to 60 before RAF is gone. any suggestions on a 3rd team? or help with my dilemma? thanks again for the great help this forum has been amazing Last edited by Robitussin; 01-11-2011 at 02:30 AM.

Accounts used to have names. Something like AccountName. For some reason Blizzard decided they would be more secure if they were merged into a BattleNet account, which is an email address rather than just an account name. Anyway, they went ahead with the change and now all accounts have to be merged into battle.net accounts to play. Lets say you had four accounts before the change. If you were to merge them all, onto a single Battle.Net account with one email address for all of them, you would immediately be free to transfer a character from one account to another and the transfer would take less than an hour. Conversely, if you were to put each account onto its own Battle.Net account, each with its own email address to log in with, then for the first 30 days after merging into different battlenet accounts, you could not do any transfers. Further, down the road you decide to upgrade to five accounts so you can five box. If you add this new account to one of your four existing battle.net accounts, you could immediately transfer characters between those two accounts, with approximately an hour delay between each transfer. But the newly acquired account, could not transfer to or from any account on another battle.net account, until 30 days have passed since the merging onto the battle.net account. You still need to have the same name on all accounts to do transfers between accounts.

The lower level questing process has been dramatically improved; there aren't that many collections anymore, and those that you encounter seem to drop the quest piece for the entire group, which makes them more kill quests than collections. If your friend is having issues boosting, consider taking your team to straight questing, or possibly run them through battlegrounds on the weekend associated with that battleground (this Fri-Mon is Alterac Valley), provided queues are relatively short and your faction wins enough that the experience is decent. You could combine both methods, by questing but queuing too and taking battlegrounds when the queue finishes. Whether the DK is on B or E won't impact your ability to boost. I only recommend moving to B, so B will receive granted levels from D & E. Which teams to play is up to you, as everyone has their own preferences. I'm currently having the most fun with these: a: 5x Feral Druids b: 1x Disc Priest, x4 Frost DeathKnights c: 1x Prot Paladin, 4x Elemental Shaman d: 1x Blood DeathKnight, 1x Arcane Mage, 1x Destro Warlock, 1x Resto Shaman, 1x Resto Druid. I've considered leveling 5x Mages, 5x Warlocks and 5x Paladins at times, and have a lower level team of Priest + 4x Warlocks that were not leveled during RAF. During RAF I did: Druids, Hunters, Priests, Shamans. Like you, I had two accounts full of 70's (the cap at the time) and added three accounts, for a total of five. | |

So I got my shaman team to 50th today did sm>scholo>strath>BRD going to get the last few lvls then do the same with the druids who are parked at SM. I cant thank you enough for the tip about putting E on the same battlenet as B. I was able to transfer the DK to E and boost my self so much more efficiently then my friend and his mage. So far im at 18hours played with the shamans so I figure I have time for quite a few teams before RAF is gone. I'm thinking 4x shaman/druid/hunter/pally and level granting the 5th on the ones i enjoy the most or 4x shaman/druid/pally/hunter and level granting 4x warlocks to go with my main 85 warlock. I'm still not sure I need to get the druids past scholo first it felt like i was there forever, may stay longer in cath next time. How effective is boosting post 60? The DK doesn't even drop in health in BRD so im guessing he wont have much difficulties farther along, but I would hate to burn out and have a million toons at 60 cause i got sick of slow lvls. 4 teams to 60th would mean 2 teams to 60th granted lvls right? my RAF is A-C B-D-E thanks again for everything so enjoying these alts, My roommate is super jealous of the speed my alts are lvling he's decided to double up on his efforts to lvl his non RAF mage and preist teams

57th to 60th in Hellfire Ramparts. 60th to 62nd in Hellfire Bloodfurnace. 62nd to 64th in Zangarmarsh Underbog. 64th to 66th in one of the Auchendoun instances in Terrokar. 66th to 68th, possibly in Old Hillsbrad.

Hey so I tried to log in today and found that the DK account was suspended. I'm not sure why. I was hacked and the password was changed, after I reset the password I also added an authenticator to the account but unfortunately I can't seem to find the email saying why the account was suspended. It seems only the DK account was suspended, the shamans all log in fine, is instance boosting against the ToS? I can imagine since they hacked the account they could have done something else but it seems odd that they didn't also suspend the other accounts on that bnet. thanks for all the help

Instance boosting is fine. If the account was suspended, contact billing via phone. If anything was taken, you'll usually get it back fairly quickly. Billing will have the relevant information for you.

Hey sorry for the long lapse in posts, just wanted to update, So far I have the Shamans at 62 I stopped leveling them and decided to make the best use of my RAF time. I now also have 60th Druid and Paladins (Grants). Going to round it out with Hunters Mages, and Deathknights using my grants to do Rogues. I really like the pallies atm, but I'm going to pull my self away and try and finish up the rest of them before march. After they are all 60 I'm not quite sure where to go from there. Boosting to 70 seems doable but so much slower now without the RAF bonus. I may try my hand at questing them for awhile. Or just break them up and solo quest/dungeon grind them. What level would your recommend doing tradeskills at? I haven't touched them on any character yet. I have a guild bank with about 5 tabs full of greens, cloth, and gems just from these few sets so I figured going ench/tailor/JC with gathering professions mixed in would be easy to do. My main is tailor/ench and my alt is mining/eng both at 525 so i guess i could also round out the rest of the professions but that seems a bit expensive after buying everyone flying/riding skills this is quite a pricey hobby. I'm guessing at 70th soloing 5man heroics would net decent money though. Thanks so much for all the great feedback Ualaa your help is greatly appreciated.
