| Hey this is my first post. I've been all over this site reading up on multiboxing and decided to give it a shot. I experimented with 2 RAF hunters and easily got to 21 but wanna expand my team. So i downloaded and installed Jamba (the newest version) and now find myself completely lost. Help setting up a 3 man team with tank dps and heals is appreciated. |

| Decide what you want to do with your team. By that, I mean what aspects of the game would you like the team to be competitive in. If you want only PvE - say heroics, then a different composition would be optimal then a team that will only PvP; I'd probably do an initial team that could both PvP and PvE, especially with dual-specs. With the advent of Interact With Target + Click to Move, a melee team is as viable as a ranged team, or a mixed team. The easiest will probably be a melee tank, 3x ranged DPS and a ranged healer. Most boxers find a Druid or Priest as the best healer. That said, Cataclysm will change the classes a fair bit. Your tank can be a Warrior, Druid, Death Knight or Paladin. If you have a caster team, the Druid can spec Boomkin in addition to Feral tank, which gets you a full caster team for battlegrounds. Lots of compositions are viable, it all depends on the classes you enjoy playing the most. At a basic level, you'll need a form of assist and a means to follow the active character. There are a lot of options for assist, ranging from assist your focus, assist your target, assist your party leader etc, to an FTL (Focus/Target/Leader independent) system. Follow is fairly basic too. Jamba is now modular, so you can keep the portions you like, and discard those you don't use. I like my slave/follower toons to mimic the flightpaths and quest decisions of the active toon. While Jamba provides a lot of options, beyond that I'm happy to do almost everything else on my own. I also use the visual for the team, to see who is following or who has broken follow. The item bar is a neat feature, especially while leveling, but has fallen into disuse since then. My favorite team is: 5x Feral (Cat) Druids, who are dual spec'd to get me 1x Feral (Bear), 1x Resto Druid and 3x Balance (Boomkin) Druids. So the same team can go both PvP and PvE. Depending on how Feral (Cats) play in Cataclysm, the team might be 3-5x Balance and 0-2x Resto, as their PvP specs instead of Feral. I'll likely stick with Bear/Resto/3x Balance for PvE with this team. The easiest combination is: 1x Prot Paladin, 3-4x Elemental Shaman and 0-1x Balance Druid or a Warlock of any spec. That gets you an easy to run, and effective for both single and AoE pulls, tank. It gets you enough healing (3x Elementals can heal all current 5-man content easily). And you have the option of 13% additional spell power from the Warlock's "Curse of Elements" or the Balance Druid's "Earth & Moon". Quite a few are melee boxing with: 4x Ret Paladins and 1x Frost/Blood Death Knights. The DK brings almost as many melee buffs to the team as an Enhancement Shaman, and also adds a very strong snare plus Death Grip, which overcomes the Paladin weakness of not being able to close the distance on those who kite them. Currently, via Art of War procs, the Pallies can instant cast Flash of Light; in Cataclsym they will be limited to Exorcism (DPS move) instead of Exorcism or Flash of Light on the AoW procs. A 5x Paladin team can work. You can go Holy Spec, Prot Spec and 3x Ret Spec. This is similar to the DK/Pally team, except you have a dedicated healer. A dedicated healer might be an idea for Cataclysm, as all specs of healers seem to have dispels which are otherwise unavailable to their classes. A lot of compositions will work for most aspects of the game. If you want to run PvE (Heroics), you'll likely need 1x Tanking, 1x Healing and 3x DPS toons. If you want to run PvP, you're more flexible in what you can bring, but an all caster team or a melee in-their-face team are probably the most likely to succeed. |
