Default Multiboxing 14 EVE Online Clients

I've been playing eve for just over 2 years and ran across this thread on the eve online official forums where the author used mouse broadcasting, super glue, scotch tape and some woodworking (yes woodworking... lol) to multibox 14 eve online characters. I have two eve characters currently and thought perhaps this could be adapted to pwnboxer in some fashion

There is also posted replies from senior staff at CCP giving full blessing to supporting hardware and software multiboxing in eve online!!!

Senior GM Lelouch verified that software and hardware multiboxing is indeed legal in Eve in this forum reply to my eve-o thread:

Hello there,

To make a long story short, automation of gameplay is not permitted; players must be manually issuing the commands to control their character(s) at all times.

Our stance on programs such as Synergy and hardware/software combination such as the G15 keyboard is that they can be legitimately used as long as gameplay isn't automated. Synergy allows you to move your mouse cursor to multiple different monitors which are hooked up to different computers and we do not have any qualms with players using the program for this purpose. If Synergy was used in some way to control your accounts for you without a need for you to be at your keyboard, then that would not be allowed, but I am not aware of such a functionality with this program. If Synergy is used in conjunction with some other program to automate gameplay, it would not be permitted. G15 "macros" which allow you to group different commands into one keypress are allowed. For example, setting your G1 key to press F1, F2, F3 and so on for you with one key press is allowed (although this specific command is not as useful as it was before now that we have weapon grouping).

An exceedingly complex G15 macro which would effectively automate gameplay, such as mining, without a need for the player to be present at his keyboard would be against the EULA, regardless of whether the player utilizing said macro is sitting at his keyboard at the time!

Lastly, multiboxing is allowed, and programs designed for multiboxing in mind which allow a player to manually issue the same command to multiple game clients at the same time are allowed. In the same vein as what has been stated above, the player must be manually sending the commands; if a program is automating those commands for you, then it would be considered a breach of our EULA.

I hope this clears up this matter.

Best regards,
Senior GM Lelouch

Very cool!

Is Eve a browser based game, or is there a direct .exe you can run to access it (no launcher?)?

I believe it has already been established that using mouse/keyboard software multiplexers in eve is a no go.

You'll have to copy Kromtor, or alt-tab =)

Actually Carbs, that GM specifically said that multiboxing software IS allowed.

"Lastly, multiboxing is allowed, and programs designed for multiboxing in mind which allow a player to manually issue the same command to multiple game clients at the same time are allowed."

It's a direct .exe, no launchers involved.

There is a launcher page that you log onto, but I think it is part of the .exe file, not a separate file.

The link for the trial account is: EVE Online | Free Trial

Would be nice to have a multiboxing setup for EVE, since I quit WOW a few weeks back and am slowly building up my character for Eve.

I have a second account that I was setting up to be my miner, it is currently idle. Would be nice if you had a way to independently control each character or at the same time. So if you are working on a mission together, you can shadow commands. But if you are doing different things, like one mining, one defending, or one transporting and one defending, you could do it. Though I think that might prove to be quite a headache to figure out.

I haven't tried grouping, fleets, in Eve, so I am not sure how the targeting system would work.

The nice thing about Eve is that you can actually pay for your account by playing. You can use the PLEX system to either buy game time with ingame currency, or on the other side, you can sell game time for ingame currency.
There is no hacking issue, that I know of, in Eve online.
