Default Mac multiboxing problem

So I'm new to the whole multiboxing thing and I'm still trying to figure out how to actually open multiple WoW clients. I'd originally downloaded "WOW-MULTIBOXER" to help me with this. I just tested it while I was already signed into my regular WoW client. It loaded up, I signed in, and it showed me my character selection screen. But when I went to enter the game on my selected toon it just sat at the loading screen.
I then tried just opening a 2nd client through the Terminal (using the command "open -n <wow directory>"), thinking the program was at fault, and the same thing happened.
So then I thought, maybe it's because I'd already opened a normal client through the WoW app and should start up my 2nd app first. So I closed my 2 clients and tried to open WoW from the WOW-MULTIBOXER app. To my surprise the exact same thing happened. I want to think something is wrong with WOW-MULTIBOXER but I'd gotten this same response when I tried it the old-fashioned way with the Terminal.
I know that WOW-MULTIBOXER needs the original client to be installed in my applications folder. I have that already. Have I done something else wrong? Any help would really be appreciated.
I run with a MacBook Pro, OS 10.6, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.8 GHz, with 2 graphics cards (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT).

For PC boxing software, you want the software to launch your warcraft games. Not sure, but would assume that is the same for a MAC boxing program.

To my knowledge, the best MAC boxing software is Clonekeys.

No see CloneKeys just replicates keystrokes (Multiboxing software - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft). I'm still trying to just open 2 WoW clients at once.

I've narrowed it down and found out that it's the fault of one of my addons. So far PowerAuras is one of the culprits. I've been able to start the game with all the others on, but when I originally had this problem I didn't have PowerAuras active. So I keep thinking there's another addon, but so far the clients have been behaving.

I wish I knew why though, it's addons.

A lot of boxers use Power Aura's without issue.
You can try disabling all of your addons, to see if that makes the problem go away.

I did disable them all and it worked fine. But some addons I really need. So I then restarted it and went through all my addons, one by one, turning them on and signing in to see which one was preventing me from logging on. Power Auras was the only one.

Check for a new version then.
I know several people use the addon fine.

Not sure your conflict, but if you can play, its easier to look for an addon replacement than not even know what the issue is.

If you must use that addon, then put WoW in 2 directories, and launch just 1 per directory. See if that helps.

AHHA! I have found the problem.

I've had PowerAuras ever since it was originally on WowInterface. But a while back I moved to the Curse Client and thus had to manually update any of my WowInterface addons that weren't on Curse, PowerAuras being one of them. Well, I didn't know they came over to Curse and since I'd gotten lazy about updating my addons outside of the Curse Client I had a pretty outdated version of the addon.
I just updated WoW with the new PowerAuras from Curse and it works like a charm

Thanks for all the suggestions.

Awesome

How is the Mac for multiboxing anyway? It go smoothly? Mind letting me know your specs? I get the question time to time, but I really have no idea anything about Macs

Well, you know, I bet if I had a desktop mac it'd be petty good but when I originally got a computer (before WoW) I needed to be portable and thus got a laptop.
WoW runs on it just fine but I usually have to turn off my other programs and run the lowest settings in the game.
Did you mean computer specs when you asked? I mentioned mine is a MacBook Pro, OS 10.6, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.8 GHz, with 2 graphics cards (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and 9600M GT).
If you meant in-game specs, like graphics, I pretty much run at the bare minimum so I don't lag out. The only special thing I run with is this macro below, and it's because I'm spoiled and can't go back to normal-mode after it now:
/console groundEffectDensity 200
/console groundEffectDist 150
/console detailDoodadAlpha 100
/console spelleffectlevel 200
I also have view distance on fair. Any higher and I lag. I plan on saving for a nicer gaming machine, but for now I have to just go easy with the mac.
I would definitely recommend multiple screens for boxing on a mac though. There isn't a nice program like on PC where you can have all the clients displayed on the same screen. So other than having each client on a different screen I usually have "Spaces" enabled on my machine and then tab through each screen to view them separately.
I wouldn't really suggest any heavy boxing on a mac because they're unfortunately not built for it. The most I plan on doing is having my healer follow my main around so she's not limited to doing some harder stuff. I highly doubt my machine can handle a little 5man, but maybe one day I'll test it and see.....after backing everything up incase I fry it. Lol!
