| Member | My friend and I both 2 box with PWNboxer and we have found a nice loophole for travelling to far reaching places on lower level toons that don't have flight paths etc using what we call the Dungeon Finder express... Just queue for x dungeon commit suicide... res at the angel (yeah I know res sickness, repairs but who cares at lower levels) and voila... you are spawned on the other side of the globe near where you want to be. This works great for quests that run you to timbuk2 and back. Yes we are homed in Dalaran etc but you can only milk stoning back to Dalaran so much. ![]() Think Shammy Call of Water quest... we probably used 3 Dungeon finder express runs to hop between silverpine and the southern barrens queuing between Shadowfang and Razerfen Kraul when the stone wasn't up. Works great many times for us.... I should also mention you need a full group for this to be time viable. Last edited by dualboxinfun; 04-01-2010 at 02:01 PM. |

| Senior Member | Great tip, however just remember that anytime that you use Game mechanics in a way that it was not intended, its considered exploiting and against the ToS. Have fun and good luck |

| Senior Member | Early on in wow you used to be able to die and res at any spirit healer in the game... basically running across the land invisible to all mobs since you were dead. Even though it was really slow and time consuming Even though you get repair Even though you get resurrection sickness they still patched it so that if you run to the wrong spirit healer, it will instantly port you to the spirit healer you were supposed to resurrect from. Debate over /flex lol just messing with you on that last part... but seriously, they did patch it out because they didnt want that to happen in the game. I doubt they will catch you unless they specifically aimed their eyes to it. Just be careful is all I am saying, don't want to see a fellow multiboxer lose out on multiple accounts over a few mins run time is all. /salute be safe |

Run here run there, run way the F over there, now go back to the start way over there, oh hey go back where you just came from! You think you are done??? hell no go back up there and maybe, just maybe we'll give you your water totem |

| Well there is circumventing game mechanics in a variety of ways, which no one considers to be at all wrong, and is still a commonly used circumvention. Take for example, 'the Dark Portal', which cannot be passed through until 58th level. However Warlocks can summon and Mages can port level 1's to Shattrath or Dalaran, for a bind in a city with portals to each continent. Since the Dark Portal prevents one from passing through at 1st through 57th, and the Dalaran quest is not available until 73rd, there exist game mechanics specifically preventing toons from getting to these places too early. Yet, people love to bind alts in these places for the convenience. The dungeon finder probably is not intended as a method to teleport across the continent, but there at least is nothing in the game which prevents a level 1 from eventually (corpse hopping if need be) moving from A to B. There are mechanics which specifically prevent toons from reaching Shatt/Dal too early, so this is less of a circumvention then the convenient bind point. Anything you do in the game is at your risk. But I would be very surprised if you were suspended or banned for using the graveyard the game sends you to, upon dying in the game. |

| Senior Member | The difference is that mage portals and warlock summons are usable abilities that if blizzard wanted to restrict, they would have. However, they are a game mechanic that developers knew could be utilized and is not circumventing anything if you look at it that way. The reason the dark portal was level 58 restricted was to: a) Minimize the amount of people in a single area when The Burning Crusade 1st came out. b) Protect players who were in Blasted Lands from accidentally entering the Dark Portal too early. The Dalaran level 77 restriction was put in place to protect the servers at the time if we all remember Shattrath was insanely laggy and not very stable. They wanted a progressive migration from Shattrath to Dalaran to minimalize server crashes. |

| It's easy enough to say, if blizzard wanted to restrict portals/summons they'd put something in. It's just as easy to say, if blizzard wanted to restrict where you could rez when you died during an instance, they'd have you appear at zone in where you port to when you use the dungeon finder. These are both circumventing game mechanics, and are again both fairly harmless. |
