why?

Malicious ads are a huge source of getting adware/malware on PCs. Heck there was even one that slipped by blizzard a long while back with the new adds they put on their forums.

I disable ads anywhere and everywhere I possibly can.

Just skimmed the JTV ToS, and didn't see anything restricting the use of this kind of tool. Don't take my word for it tho =P

If you didn't gather already, I'm a mod over at JTV. Hush hush, I know, but from my perspective, I sometimes lay the hammer down on people who promote removing the ads from the JTV site.

The reason is that sites like JTV are insanely expensive to offer and the advertising is really the lifeblood that enables these sites to continue. Take my stream for example. Often it requires over a GIGABIT/sec (Yes, 1000mb/sec) internet connection just for my stream alone. In fact, I've actually peaked at over 80,000mbit/sec for my stream. Is JTV making money from the ads on my stream? Hell no! So do what you can to help them out, ya know?
