So I have this Idea for a Website...

Kind of like a Game of the Week thing. Every week highlight a game I've been playing, And allow user submitted reviews of the games as well. Discussion about the game, all that good stuff.

Something that just came into my consciousness during work, what do you guys think?

Yea this sounds like an awesome idea. And yea, I might yoink it

Actually I've been toying around with this same idea and have been bulking up a game library to do it, but more of a retro spin to it. Basically I was thinking of taking game series and playing them all from start to finish, which could take weeks depending on what game series it would be.

Then users could vote on the next game series, and then we go to town on that one.

What I'd REALLY like to do is figure out a way to build a website around this specifically that allows multiple streamers to participate in the same stream. So that way maybe me and Lindline, or all 3 of us, or Muffin, could all chat/stream/etc around the same game, or maybe do separate games from each other, or a cluster of it all, etc.

We could even see if some of the traditional "Lets Play" people would be interested in joining in as well!

sounds like a great idea, though modding the site would be bad if there is a crap-load of people though. I worry about people posting spoilers and or other non-needed things.

not sure if there would be legal problems if there was some sort of mame network list on the server and that ppl can set up and connect to the server to play the games with each other. also having pc, xbox 360, wii, ps3 game lists so we can play with other peeps.

The visitor submitted content would go through an approval process.

Like there would be a section for each major contributor and then a visitor section?

Yup I think thats a good idea, and even better, to have the ability for a visitor, who constantly submits good content, to become an "Editor" and can submit content directly.

But then mods/admins could edit/delete/whatever an Editors article.

That would be a solid way of grabbing up good writers. "Hey, you want to be featured? Give us lots of good content in the visitor section"
