I was banned from WoW today.

I didn't get an e-mail why.

I called up Blizzard and they told me I had to e-mail. So I did, no reply, so I activated a new account and petitioned a GM and used the glitch i learned to get put at the top of the GM queue, so I only had to wait 35 minutes.

Anyways the GM said it appeared someone else logged into my computer. (impossible since I was on for 12 straight hours). Anyways it was banned i guess for my protection, I'm not sure... they never specified why.

GM escalated the ticket to a specialist... been waiting 4 hours for a response and got nothing. I go away this weekend and thus I hope I don't lose my appeal on the fact that I'm not around to discuss the issues.


All I've done in wow the past month is work the Auctionhouse and CoD a lot. CoDs in and out. I had amassed over 200K gold and was very happy while doing it. I was in shock when it happened. No GM contacted me prior to the ban. Just out of nowhere.

Anyways, if my account is upheld as permanently closed. I guess I will take my leave from the game forever.

My Warlock, Mage, Hunter, and Death Knight + all my gold + all my heirlooms gone and not given any specifics on why exactly it was done.

I do understand blizzard has full right to do this. but as an original wow player and dedicated minion of all blizzard rules, I would have thought they would give an explanation.

PS: Between this, being sick, and the endless pain in my wrist... this was the icing on the cake of my 2011 thus far.

Hassle them enough and they will tell you why.
All the people i know who got banned by mistake ('apparent' wrong behavior / hacked etc) got unbanned.

If you've done nothing wrong (and i mean nothing) you'll get your accounts back, and they'll probably throw a free day or two.

Now that said, god i hate queue-jumpers.. who do they think they are to 'deserve' better service. sigh

Some guy on the other site was wrongly banned for the use of Keyclone this last weekend.

The GM who read the ticket/complaint had never heard of multiboxing and assumed it was cheating somehow. The first escalation had not either, which is pretty hard to believe. Anyway, the third pestering got someone who knew what was involved.

They restored the account in question and credited it with one day of game time, which honestly is rather pathetic on Blizzards part, when they wrongly banned someone.

6 hours after my post I was unbanned by a specialist.

The closest that I was given to an explanation was:

I recopied and misread when I typed... it was from an in game ticket thatI got that response.

It is most likely a mistake on Blizzard's end, of which they didn't fully admit, but they reverted the banning.

I've heard of this happening a lot of times in the past, you're probably just another bad case of a mistake on Bliz end.
