Default Geocaching

Has anybody here heard of Geocaching? If not, it's a treasure hunting game where people use GPS devices (including GPS phones) to find "treasures" or items that are hidden all over the country (and world, for those who live across the pond).

If interested, find out more by watching this video: What is Geocaching?

As of this post, I have found 115 Geocaches, and hid 2 of my own.

I think the real question is:

So, Muffin, how old is your daughter?

Yeah, I love it too, great way to get outside. The area I live in has like 50 parks, so there are many caches in the area. Well over 500 in a 10 mile radius.

Now all Muffin has to do is find me on the website... shouldn't be too difficult.....

I've only done Geocaching once, but it was a lot of fun. The kids loved it and didn't even realize that they had hiked about 4 miles.

US National Whitewater Center has an 'Eco Caching' program that we've done before (i.e. gotta pay $) when we visit. I think next time we go camping, we'll do some research ahead of time and see if we can't locate a few caches.

Since I am a premium member, I have a query run every Sunday returning caches within a 15 mile radius I have not found yet and are not disabled. Here's what 500 caches look like within roughly a 12 mile radius. I'm slowly crossing them off my list, and I have a LOOOONG way to go.

Was down in Cottage Grove, MN earlier today (bottom of the picture) grabbing some. I'm up to 125 (as of this post) now, and I might add my find stats to my sig (if allowed)
