| I send monthly care packages to military overseas in combat areas. This is an article about a boy and his dog, well sorta couldnt resist the movie reference, in Afghanistan. Exerpt : Jeffrey De Young is 19 years old and a Lance Corporal in the US Marines stationed in Afghanistan. He is a dog handler, and his dog is a 2-year-old black lab named Cena, the shortest Marine in Afghanistan The article is here. I have been doing the care packages for about 5 years and it is very satisfying. When my brother was sent there 2 summers ago at the age of tender age of 40 it took on more meaning. We usually get one of those all you witsh to stuff in it for one price boxes an then proceed to stuff in things that are difficult to get in the PX or around there. I usually get a paticular person to send to during their stay and include notes and letters and ask if they want something special. Well I hope yall decide to think about this kind of project. |
