I get that Tim... and to go back to the comment in the thread you decided to lock, your example proves it has to be something Recount + SYSTEM related... because I can load it up in the exact same fashion (as I have been doing since I started boxing ages ago) with absolutely zero issues.

I would love to know what about a system causes issues with Recount. I 100% disagree with you, it does matter. Maybe there is something someone could change if they would like to indeed use recount but this issue crops up for them?

I understand that you would like to know specifically what is causing the crashes with Recount. But you have to look at it from the end-user's perspective who is having the crashes, potentially being angry and frustrated at the issue. If that end user simply wants things to work, then they simply have to disable Recount.

Maybe that user insists on using Recount and is willing to spend the time and resources to figured it out. However, it has been my experienced that after people have spent many hours without avail that they are extremely happy to know that by simply removing that addon, things will work.

Would it be great if somebody dug into this more and figured out what specifically in Recount + gamer's system is causing the crashing? Heck yea that would be nice. But for me personally, and I would say this opinion is also shared amongst those people tired of crashes and anxious to get things working, that getting up and running right away trumps the extra time and resources to troubleshoot Recount and the issue specifically.

Oh and Muffin, if you want, I am about to stream tonight and will put my Recount back in to show you what I mean. Maybe you will know some magic that I don't to fix all the probs people are having w/o having to remove Recount!

Dude.. I know what you mean. I never once said it WASNT RECOUNT. The only point I was trying to say was that it has to be Recount + Something system specific and I was curious what that might be.

I was trying to get people to brainstorm, but you had to come in here with your "I KNOW WHATS GOING ON" and "I AM RIGHT" hammers.

Perhaps it would be useful to start a Recount sticky and have crashers post their system specs. Set up a template for them to follow.

Muffin, I and those without Recount crashes can post ours and build up some data on it so we have something to chew on.



As an aside, Tim, I've always have quirks with Game 3. I always seem to be yelling at that toon for some reason, like not following, charging off into the sunset, etc. Configs are good as it's intermittent, but he's about to get a pair of mithril spurs up his tunic.
