Default slaves continues to run amok.. hm what could be wrong

Hi again.

The last couple of days, the odd time, when i press the arrow key down (which tells by slaves to take a step backwards, breaks follow), the continue to walk backwards without stopping..

Usually i smash all buttons i can think of inkl /follow etcetc, and they do comply with the new commands sent to them...but then they start to walk backwards again.

Ive managed to hit buttons and been lucky to fix this /phu

Anyone know what makes this behaviour happen?

I have very rarely had a toon stuck on forward movement. Maybe three or four times, in the whole time I've played warcraft. Not really sure what causes it, nor how to fix it aside from getting the toon "stuck" on something and then exiting/restarting. I've never been able to replicate this, so am not sure what could cause your issue.

This has happened to me and it is very annoying

What I suspect to be the problem is one of the following:
- Lag. Sometimes if latency spikes, your key broadcast lags and may cause the problem
- Alt-tabbing outside the multiboxing software. I notice that if alt-tab to firefox or something else and then back to my main screen, this can happen. The way I solve it is click in each of the clients to take control of them again

Hope this helps

It is almost always an issue between the WoW client, WoW server, and your PC. It occurs regardless of your multiboxing software and actually occurs WITHOUT multiboxing software. It just seems to happen more often when multiboxing as you have more characters to have the issue.

The best way to resolve this is to always have keys bound that do this: move forward, backwards, strafe right

Then the second you have a run-away, just hit those 3 keys at once and it will instantly resolve it (due to re-sending key states).

For me, I use the 4 arrow keys and just mash them real fast if I see it. Problem solved. In fact, run-aways are 0 problem for me since in the rare event it happens, 1 key mash solves it.

Hi again. Yes this is still a prob that happens every now and then, and its veeery annoying when in a bg = i just leave.

So i set out on a mission to figure out what caused it and how i could fix it.
Found myself a nice stonewall someplace desserted.

Its always associated with me using the down arrowkey to move the toons backwards (while i use spells on my main at the same time). So far, if i make them go backwards, and i press left shift + f and/or g key (heals), then they run backwards like chickens.

The solution for me was to hammer wildly all the 3 arrowkeys (left, right and down) like mad for a sec or 2 (all toons have the 4 arrow keys keybinded so i can move them together in those four directions) = sorted it, all stops.
I can easily replicate this at will.

Dunno if it is a easy fix for this, as u pointed out. But atleast i can stop it now.

"must remember to only move toons individually when its safe and i dont have to press anything on my main".

I have had this issue regularly, but it seems its a problem with windows and keyboard sending keys.
I've had it in several games, WoW being one of them.
From what i can gather wow keeps registering a key being pressed, even though i only pressed it once. For me this only seems to happen when i press like 3 keys at the same time, and is nearly allways (read not allways) fixed by pressing the key again, to get it to register it again, but this time also registering the key-up event.

If that doesn't work, which rarely, i usually alt-tab out, then back in and do the same.
This might however be a problem with pwnboxer, since alt-tabbing doesn't exactly do the same thing :P

I'm afraid that IF you are experiencing the same problem, you are going to have to work around it (which you seem to have allready done), if it isn't the same problem then feel free to give more info. :P

It is a windows problem, not a warcraft or any particular boxing software issue.
The three keys at once is the best fix.
