And dang it, this keeps happening. While debugging the crashes pwnboxer duplicated three full sets of key remappings. Again, only the key remapping list in the file is duplicated. Seems to be related to pwnboxer crashing, but not sure how.

Hey fogy I am about to stream live. Could you stop by justin.tv/multiboxing and mention you are fogy and ask me to try and duplicate what you're seeing? I'll be streaming for maybe 6 hours, so hopefully you notice and we can synch up. Otherwise, I stream almost every day and I'd love to get this nailed down.

I wouldn't know what to tell ya to get it to happen yet. I'll email you a file with the problem. So, at what point(s) is the list in written to file? When I hit "Key Remapping" is the list considered dirty or only after an edit? It's in memory and being appended to the list already present in the file, so...?

Ahh, I'm finding that Pwnboxer isn't deleting the Key Remapping settings when loading configs. If I open PB and load one of my configs it does not change the key remapping settings to the loaded config settings, it appends them. I can exponentially grow my config file by repeatedly loading, saving and loading the same file. ESTABLISH BASELINE 1) Open PB 2) Open a config file 3) Choose "Configure Keys" 4) Choose "Key Remapping" 5) Hit "Clear" to delete all remapping and hit OK 6) Save as a new config file to establish the base line. 7) My new file size is 49kb without key remappings. POPULATE KEY REMAPPINGS 8) Load a config file with known key remappings in it, or create your own. 9) Save now to a new config. 10) Note the new config file size: Mine is now 87kb with one set of remappings. HOW TO SHOW KEY REMAPPING PERSISTS DESPITE LOADING NEW CONFIG ....Normal behavior should be that the following steps allow us to open our baseline config and have NO key remappings in it. 11) Close and Reopen PB. 12) Load the baseline config we made in step 6. 13) Check for Key Remappings 14) For me at this point the key remappings persist even though I loaded an "key remapping-less" config. HOW TO APPEND KEY REMAPPINGS 15) Save what you have to a new config. 16) Note the file size. 17) Load that config you just saved. (Note: can be any config with Key Remappings already present. Recursive loading just makes it exponential and easier to detect) 18) Go to step 15 and repeat.

Basically you get another set of keymaps every time you load any configuration file that has keymaps in it. It should clear keymaps before applying loaded ones. Now it just appends keymaps after old ones and you get duplicates. Example: Example keymap, just added a couple of random keys ![]() Save with any name and reload same konfiguration file. This is what you get. Every keymap is there now twice: Load cfg again, you have 3 sets of same keymaps etc... ![]() Remember, you can not add duplicates even yourself :P ![]() Just load configuration with any keymapping and you get them in the list with keymaps you had earlier. With multiple cfg reloads you have whole lot of keymaps :P

Make sure you File-> Load your configuration, and File-> Save after you make a change. This will ensure nothing gets corrupt of WoW crashes, your PC Crashes, etc.

Read my post above and follow my reproduction. Existing remaps get merged with the loaded ones. I save and load configs religiously now SPECIFICALLY because of this bug. Here's my work around. I have a config I use called baseline. It's just an empty dummy config. Whenever I want to load a pre-configured config with specific key remappings I always have to load the baseline, CLEAR all remappings to empty them out so no remappings exist, then open the desired config. That is the only way to get a pure set of remappings. Otherwise whatever is there when another config is loaded gets merged. I.E.- Dollars to donuts you're not deleting the remappings when we load new ones. Last edited by fogy; 07-18-2010 at 07:53 PM. | |
