| will pwnboxer work with ATI’s eyefinity (think of triplehead2go) using 3 monitors side by side and use the effective resolution of the 3 and not just 1 display? how does pwnboxer resize/rescale client windows if you have multiples on 1 display, does it maintain your game aspect ratio settings or does it smartly redraw it to the pwnboxer client window size/settings? i’d like to know once i have an effective 5760 x 1200 resolution if i need to keep this aspect ratio (48:10) to avoid skewed pictures. can i copy my wow installation folder so i can set a separate resolution/aspect ratio for my slaves (no point in having a 48:10 aspect ratio for my slaves). i’m taking the plunge to multiboxing and surround gaming (3 monitors only) at the same time so need to know how to maximize my experience with both in the mix. also, for those PC hardware smarts out there, do you think a dual ATI HD 5830 can handle 5760 x 1200? thanks! |

| Senior Member | I used Pwnboxer with a TripleHead2Go for quite some time and had no real issues. My preference now is I use 2 video cards for 3 monitors. I use dual GTS 250. If you have 2 video cards with 2 DVI (or HDMI) ports each, just use those and don't use eyefinity or crossfile or whatever ATIs version of SLI is.

| “If you have 2 video cards with 2 DVI (or HDMI) ports each” - i’m planning to get another HD 5830 for a dual card config. “don't use eyefinity or crossfire” - i thought you need to install crossfire/SLI drivers for a dual GFX card to work? does PwnBoxer takes care of this? - the eyefinity is the one that groups the 3 monitors into a single display for a wider aspect ratio, again will PwnBoxer take care of this (so i can still get the benefit of an ultra wide aspect ratio) or are you saying my master client resides in 1 monitor and the slaves on my other monitors? thanks and i apologize i just started this idea 2 days ago… |

| He's saying the later. In that situation (and in general) crossfire/SLI is less helpful than physically distributing the processing load by plugginh your monitors into separate cards. If you're still desperate to go with eyefinity, then yes, you need crossfire, but the genral opinion round here is that it doesn't add anything.

| Senior Member | You do NOT need crossfire or SLI for dual video cards to work. In general with WoW both of those are no-nos and can cause noticeable FPS loss. Either way you go though Pwnboxer works fine. Also having an ultra-wide aspect ration isn't all its cracked up to be. Having 3 distinct monitors is MUCH better... and that is from someone who played at 5040x1050 for AGES... (since just pre-WotLK release)

| my current setup should be fine then if i scratch surround gaming, i’m using 2 monitors (1 for master and 1 for slaves) but using only 1 gfx card which is fine so far. i just need to find a way when i switch clients (game switch) on my main window the master should switch with it too (meaning the toon on that client becomes the master and macros adapt as well). is there a best known method to accomplish this (maybe addon or another software or even hardware)? i’d like to when i hit a key my designated client for that key is switched on my main monitor and becomes the master as well, macros should adapt as well. this will be handy in those gathering/clicking quests or if your master dies or need to switch on a different master. is this possible? |

| Senior Member | I believe what you are talking about is referred to as FTL. Poke around on these forums, there should be some good guides.

| When I was trying out PwnBoxer, I'm pretty sure it showed all 4 of my monitor. It will probably show you as having one large monitor, due to the nature of how the triple head 2 go works. Crossfire/SLI just seems pointless to me (my 2 cents). I'd rather have 10 monitors lol. |

| thanks all for the replies! thanks Muffin, FTL should do what i have in mind - just don’t know if it’s the best (i’m new). was my 3rd night of testing pwnboxer (and multiboxing) last night, i’m going to resub my 4th account this weekend and make my 1st serious mboxing team. yeah in this case having discrete cards (non-SLI) should be faster (no software that stiches back the picture) but i may need SLI/crossfire for other games (1st person shooting). my other question would be if i am not going to use SLI/Xfire can i use different GFX cards (chipset and make), i have a 9600GT lying around. |

| If windows will load both sets of drivers and allow you to extend the desktop, you're golden. If not, well you won't be doing anything with it anyway
