Pwnboxer game crash

Hi,
I didn't see a post that correlated with what I'm having. I am currently dual-boxing. Prot paladin, Frost DK. I am able to open both instances of the game and can move around, follow, etc. When i target and begin to attack an enemy my DK game crashes/freezes immediately. I have to ctrl/alt/delete to close out that game. Any ideas?

Sorry running xp pro 64. the system is more than enough I have been multiboxing 5man for a while now.

phenom x6
16gig corsair
2tb hd
2x 4890's
1k corsair ps

Never had any isues before this. and i tried all of my characters today with no flaws everything ran perfect.....i tried the dk and instant crash as soon as i attack.

Do you get an error report, or a hard crash?

If your WoW crashes when you did your DK then it is 100% an issue with your addons. I am betting that if you backed up all your addons as a test, then deleted all your addons, started your DK, it will work fine. So then just track back and figure out what Addon is causing the problem.

The issue is that some Addons will try to write memory space that dumps to a physical file (such as config.wtf, or your interface/addon cache) which may be in use by another instance of WoW, which memory operation error in your WoW which causes it to hang/crash.

For example, Recount is known to be notorious for causing crashes, and those who remove the Recount addon praise the Sandwich King as it resolves all their issues.

carb- no it was a hard crash, the sreen would be frozen you can still see the game but its froze. Also where have you been? Havent seen you in game in a while

I've been in game, just leveling as much on my alts as I can before cata. Let us know if Tim's suggestion fixes your issue.

Sry yes on my Alt wow i turned off every addon and just use tukui and everything is gravy now . I will eventually add em back on one at a time to key out which addon is causing the issues. Thanks again for the help guys and quick feedback!

Awesome glad you got it up and working again!

Definitely let us know which Addon was causing the crashings. To day, I know that Recount, Questhelpers old collection addon, as well as I believe it was Pong? (game) addon that all causes crashes.


I think maybe if you find out its a popular addon causing the crashes, maybe I'll create a sticky post of known add-ons that interfere with how multiboxing works?

Enable the top half of your addons.
If your problem reoccurs, it is one of these.
If not, then the issue is in the bottom half.

Disable them all, and then repeat the procedure, but with quarters (halves of the half that has the issue).

Definitely less logging in/out than one addon at a time.
