Pwnboxer + Explore

Hi

Why do Pwnboxer open Explore when I click the link in the Pwnboxer panel ?

And no I do not have Explore as my default browser, I never use it, I use Firefox

and the link to Pwnboxer Affiliate Page on the Message of the day all so open up the Internet Explorer

The links in the PB Panel are to things like Pwnboxer updates, Multiboxing streaming, etc. So when you click the link, it opens up Internet Explorer (for simplistic reasons), and takes you to that page.

About every week or so I change the PB Panel to highlight something new, like a new streamer (CustomZ02, his stream is great!!).

but why does it open up Explorer and not your default browser ?

Ya I would be curious about this too... I open links in other programs etc in Windows that open in my default browser... I cringe every time ANYTHING on my PC opens IE.

You can add me to the list, of not liking IE to open. The funny thing is, blizzard does the same thing. They ignore default browser, and just go with IE..

Hey guys,

The reason why it is IE is because Microsoft has some standard window browser integration controls, which of course are written for Internet Explorer. So the internet explorer browser controls come in the fashion of windows STD functions. Firefox/Chrome/etc do not have this STD functions.

Then how do other applications I have in windows allow me to click on links and open them in my default browser, whatever that is?
