Exclamation Pwnboxer doesn't configure windows properly

Hello all,

I am new here and have a question.

I have been trying to set up pwnboxer and am finding that although I've followed all the instructions to the t for setting up my windows to resize and what not, it simply wont do it. My windows still have borders and they dont size.

I think this could be an issue that I am using a windows home server pc (yes, I use it as a regular computer, lol), That is my best guess.

Thanks and let me know if there is any info I am leaving out... or if this is in the wrong section.

You have to open one wow and do the following

1: Open Options
2: Go to Graphics Tab
3: Display Mode should be set to windowed only, not fullscreen or anything
4: Make sure Graphics API under Advanced isn't set to DX11 if you don't ave DX11 support... that will make wow black, just thought I'd put that in there since people had that issue
5: In Pwnboxer make sure remove windows border is checkmarked

That should do it, I know thats what the guide says too, so just check your settings to make sure its all good.

Thanks for the response.

I have already set it to windowed mode on every WOW installation. Also, Directx9 is the only option I get under Graphics API, so that is what it's set to.

Pwnboxer is also set to all the right things as far as "remove windows border" and what not.

I tried pwnboxer on a windowsXP install and it did show the pwnbower panel, unlike this Windows Home Server install.... but it still did not resize the windows. (though I launched wow across network, not on the winxp actual HD - but my laptop's HD doesn't have enough space to try it on the actual HD)

Thanks again

Problem solved.

Seems to be something concerning the custom resolution i set for them. All started working but my main window (im using 4 installs) and then I changed my main's resolution to 800x600 and bam it worked.

Thanks to everyone

I am still having problems if I can jump on this thread too, I have tried doing everything listed and it still opens in two separate windows. I am running vista 64, have followed all the instructions and still cannot get PB to run right. Once I hit start all games the two windows open an no further control over the clients from PB. Please help.

I spent a couple hours helping Drake via remote assistance on skype and Teamviewer and it looks as if Directx on his system was malfunctioning. dxdiag would crash when testing or accessing directshow. his vista x64 system also had around 700-800 registry errors and an installer for klite codec pack which has a directshow library repair utility had errors installing claiming the registry was read only and could not be written to.

operating system inconsistencies and i'm nearly certain problems with directx not working will most definitely affect how reliably pwnboxer works.

additionally a microsoft MVP (uber certified microsoft IT guru) on microsoft's technet web forums recommended reinstalling windows to fix the problem. Noted in this scenario pwnboxer is not the cause of the issues it's just displaying symptoms caused by the underlying problem which is highly likely an installation of windows vista that's gone sour like old milk past it's expiration date.

Likely solution? clean format reinstall upgrade to windows 7 x64

I have to give Xartin the utmost credit and thanks for all the help he gave me. He showed me many things, and corrected alot of things for me. He was very friendly, and extremely smart with what he was doing. My computer isn't completely fixed altho it is 2000% better than what it was before. It's looking to be like nothing one person or program can fix, its just simply vista it self. If I had any suggestions to anyone having similar issues, I would simply say "Xartin". Thanks bud, means alot.

Xartin is pretty damn smart as hell, and I've known him from JTV for what, 2 years now? Maybe more? Definitely one smart cookie.
