Another thing that comes to mind as a solution is binding one of the keys you never use (say ']' or 'End' or 'Pause') to a key on you hotbars to a macro WITH the extra abilities, which you then activate from the dockable clickmapping.

If you are short of hotkey areas, anything but druids has extra bars. If you use bartender you can access these, put macros on them, and then hide them again.
