Default Panel and Dockable windows won't stay put

How are you saving the Panel and Dockable window positions?

I have two monitors. I play one game on the main and move Pwnboxer and the other games to mon2.

As I rotate games in and out of mon1 with mon1 as the focus all is well. When mon2 has the focus, however, and I flip the game to mon1 the Pwnboxer floating panels relocate on mon1 to what appears to be the relative position of the game window on mon2, locked or unlocked. If game2 on mon2 is a small square in the corner, the floating panels get squished into the corner.

For example, I may be clicking items in mon2 and determine it's too small to read so I flip to mon1 while mousing in mon2.

Fogy you have an extremely bad habit of making complicated wordy explanations of your issues.

Could you please post a simple step by step on how you reproduce this?

Ouch. One run on sentence and everyone's a critic.

How to replicate:

Monitor1 is a 28" panel, monitor2 is a 21" crt.

Make a full screen game1 on monitor1.

Spread the Pwnboxer Panel and a Dockable Clickmap to the lower left and right corner of monitor1.

Make a tiny game2 window on monitor2.

Make game2 the mouse focus and switch to monitor1.

The Panel and Dockable should relocate to the size of the tiny game2 window.

Therefore, it appears to me that when moving games between monitors Pwnboxer uses the coordinates of the window that has focus to position the floating panel and dockable windows, not the window the panel is in.

I have experienced a similar problem with dockable click-maps moving after I've locked them. I've just always put it on my list of unintended Pwnboxer "features".

Fogy's hypothesis would certainly come close to explaining the behaviour I've seen.

By "switch" do you mean "Fast Game Switching" or something else?

Do you have a key in "Extras" bound to toggle the Pwnboxer Panel?

If so what happens when you push it after your problem occurs?

I am just trying to wrap my brain around the problem... (maybe add some screenshots?). I have TONS of dockable clickmapping bars setup and do all kinds of switching ("fast game switching") from my main window to a small window or from a small window to my main window (slaves/main on different monitors) and I have never seen this issue before.

The only Panel/Dockable Clickmapping issue I have ever experienced is once and awhile my main game window will be on top of them but 1 quick press of my "toggle pwnboxer panel" key and they come right back.

Yes, Fast Game Switching.

No, I did not have an Extras binding. When I create one and use it after the boxes were moved, the only thing that happens is the Pwnboxer panel turns on and off.

I do have the problem where the game window comes in front of the panels, usually after closing and opening a game, so the Extras toggle is helpful. Thanks for that tip.

The image shows:

Grey boxes: Desired/original positions of Panel and Clickmaps.
Colored boxes: Undesired positions after Fast Game Switching with mouse/focus on Game 1. Note the relative Game 1 (red) window coordinates for bottom and right sides of the window emulated in Game 2.

Replicate: Mouse over Game1 and hit your Fast Game Switching button to pull Game 2 to Game 1's spot, then send it back, all while keeping the mouse/focus in the original Game 1 spot.

I see one glaring problem... and it probably isn't that obvious so no real fault of yours...

But Pwnboxer assumes Game1's "spot" is your main window, so it is basing everything off of that windows size.

Before you start WoW in your Pwnboxer setup, make Game1 the large window on Monitor1 and make Game2 the smaller slave window on top of Game3 and see if your problem persists.

Thanks, but those were just the positions when I screen capped. Any game combination at startup exhibits the same problem.

The problem is very likely related to the focused window's size, as I can set the windows in monitor 2 to two different sizes and the panels relocate according to the dimensions of the respective window.

More telling is that they always move to the upper left corner of Monitor 1, indicating the panels are being located according to the max coords from the game window that has focus. I.E.- if I make Game 3 in the picture above tiny but at the bottom, the panels will bunch tightly in the upper left of Monitor 1.

Nothing happens when monitor 1 has focus. Just Monitor 2.

The problem with what you are saying is that TONS of people use Dockable click mapping and Fast Game Switching with multiple monitors without any issue at all (myself included). I was unable to duplicate this on my machine. My docks never move. This leads me to believe that it is something with your system (and I guess Iru's) that is causing this weird interaction with Pwnboxer.

How are your monitors setup with respect to your video card(s)?

1 card? 2 cards? 1 on mobo and 1 on a card? 1 on each card?
