Default Other multiboxing softwares? List them here!

Hey guys,

I am working on a program now for other multiboxing softwares to be able to offer support, promote their software, get discussed, have guides, etc., all on our website here on multiboxing.com.

The goal is to offer commercial softwares a way to sponsor multiboxing.com, and get specialized access to things like promoting their software on our front page, guide support, promoting their software on our forums, etc. The fact is that multiboxing.com is constantly being developed, has tons of fun freebie contests, and basically requires an operating budget to continue. Since commercial softwares generate large sums of cash for the authors, this commercial sponsorship program is an excellent way for both sides to benefit.

In addition, I'm working on a program for free authors to get the word out about their software as well. Not as diverse as the commercial softwares, but still use the site as a great outlet to communicate and promote their software.

So to start off the conversation, I'd like to assemble a long list of every multiboxing software that you guys know about. Please list the pros/cons of each software. Also, could you please dig up an email address for each software to contact them.

Also, if you have a way to contact the software authors, please notify them of this thread and our intent.

Thanks!

Auto Hot Key
Website: AutoHotkey - Free Mouse and Keyboard Macro Program with Hotkeys and AutoText
Developer: Chris
Contact: support@autohotkey.com
Trial: Free Product

I've never used this. From my understanding, this is a script based software multiplexer. There are numerous scripts out there, and you can plug in whichever offers the features you desire.

Game Commander Pro
Website: GameCommanderPro.com | Not an octopus? Then GameCommanderPro is for you.
Developers: Phil, Alex, Jeremy, Beth and Judith
Contact: Info@GameCommanderPro.com
Trial: Offered, but unknown duration.

I have no experience with Game Commander Pro. When the product was first available, it was mentioned on the other boxing site. The author actively answered questions for a few weeks. The community was generally favorable to the product. The documentation on their web site is extensive. GCD has all the features of a top product. On the fly, you can assign a character to be in the dps group or the heal group, with their group determining which spells they cast (according to your configuration); if its an easy fight, you can move the healer into a dps group for faster kills. GCP seems to have several unique approaches I've not heard of elsewhere.

Hot Key Net
Website: HotkeyNet: Home
Developer: Freddie
Contact: freddie@hotkeynet.com
Trial: Free Product

Freddie gives very good support on the other boxing site. In addition, HKN has a large user base which offers a lot of support too. This is a script based software multiplexer, but I've never used it. From what I've seen, it is incredibly flexible but being script based makes it a bit harder to configure. Then again, if you are good with scripts then this is likely not an issue. Every feature offered by other software options, is possible with HKN too.

IS Boxer
Website: Lavish Software and ************
Developer: Lax
Contact: Lax@lavishsoft.com
Trial: 7 days

IS Boxer is a subscription based option. $10 per 90 days or $36 per year. A single subscription entitles you to run up to 5 computers at once. It has an authentication server, which to date has not been down. If you mention a referral, you both get free time.

IS Boxer is the strongest and most flexible software option I have encountered. It offers instantaneous PiP swaps between accounts. The mouse broadcasting is easy to enable, and can be configured to activate with certain spells (ground target, for example) or within certain regions of the screen; it is accurate enough to do talent selection on your team simultaneously. The Keymaps have a hotkey to activate, one or more steps with distinct actions on each step, and apply to one or more windows; if I was picking a single feature of IS Boxer, the Keymaps are my favorite by a long shot. IS Boxer offers automatic FTL, where you drag spells from the spell book directly onto your hot bar, without the need for any form of macro, and the slaves automatically cast their spell on the same keybind at the same target as the master. You can switch windows at will, with the new master being assisted. Jamba is integrated into IS Boxer, so you can configure slaves to auto follow the master on any PiP switch or only when follow is engaged. Lax offers strong support for his product (on the other site), and has an extensive wiki, an IRC support channel, and several knowledgeable users who help out. IS Boxer has my vote as the top software out there.

Keyclone
Website: Solid ICE - the Official home of Keyclone
Developer: Rob
Contact:
Trial: 24 hours.

Keyclone requires a license per computer. You can run as many accounts per PC as your system can handle. Your license lasts forever, and can be transferred to a new system by the user. It requires authentication to run, but I've never experienced the authentication server to be down.

I started my boxing with this program. It is very easy to start with. Every key pressed is broadcast to every other client. You can modify this with a blacklist to not broadcast certain keys, a white list to only broadcast certain keys, and a pause key to turn broadcasting off. There is limited support for mouse broadcasting; it is doable but not reliable enough for PvP use. Keyclone supports hotstrings, and the first FTL was developed for Keyclone. Out of all the boxing options out there, I would suspect Keyclone has the largest user base; he's been around the longest too.

Mojo
Website:
Developer: Freddie
Contact: freddie@hotkeynet.com
Trial: Free Product

This software is in development at the moment. The download is free, and available on the other site. This is basically going to be HKN version 2. Freddie has posted he wants this to be much easier on the user to adapt to whatever they want. HKN is definitely one of the top boxing options at the moment, and Mojo will be even better.

Octopus
Website:
Developed: No longer developed; support via user base.
Contact:
Trial: Free Product

This product is no longer being developed or maintained. Copies of it are available on several sites, but it is becoming harder to find. The userbase have tutorials on the other site, and half a dozen or so prominent members use this as their boxing solution. I have no experience with this software.

Pwnboxer
Website: http://www.Pwnboxer.com
Developer: Tim
Contact:
Trial: Unknown

I have no experience with this software. From forum posts here, almost all of the features of other programs are offered by PwnBoxer. There is mouse broadcasting, which seems reliable enough to use in PvP. There are a lot of users here who use PB and offer support. Tim the developer is also actively supporting his product on this site.

Great list guys, keep them coming if you know about any others.

Once we think we have a good list, I'm going to move this to another forum for me to edit it to keep track of emailing them, notes of conversations, etc.

I'll be contacting every single entry in the list to offer to join us hopefully in the next days to 2 weeks.

Edit: A few people have PM'd me asking why I would ask those people who have been very naughty to our community in the past to join us. My response is this: The goal of this site is to support the community as a whole. Because of this goal, I feel everybody should be offered the chance at a clean slate every now and then. This doesn't mean we let in our doors those people who primarily exist to spread discontent. This means that we ourselves recognize that people can change and we do our best to recognize that by allow people opportunity to do the right thing.

So yes, I will be talking to Lax of Innerspace, to Rob of Keyclone, and to everybody else. I am going to offer them the same respect that I would any newcomer to the world. Whether or not they choose to accept that or not, this is something we shall find out.

Pretty much.. Tim can offer them a place on this site, and see what they do. I cannot speak for others, but would expect some to be interested. This is a pretty big community too, so its a fair bit of exposure for their products.

I've spoken with 2 softwares now, both are interested, with one of them being off the charts interested.

Things might actually pan out over the near year in January due to family schedules starting to take precedence, but hey, its progress!

Ualla has covered everything that I'm aware of other than CloneKeys, which is for the Mac platform. I know nothing about it, as I'm not a dirty hippie Mac user (if you can't sense the sarcasm, shoot me a PM, I'll link you some for free).

I'm interested to see where this goes, so far I like the intent.
