Default Occasional screen blanking

About every 10-15 mins I get all the screens locking up and then they blank out, and after about 10 seconds they come back alive and are good for while. This usually happens when there would be the most processing (ie: large group pulls, heavy aoe rendering for boss fights). Now, I have a fairly complicated video setup with 3 monitors on an ATI 6850 under Eyefinity running the master, and 3 other monitors on 2x4650s that I have the slaves up on, along with my work programs. I've disable Recount as you suggested in other help threads, doesn't seem to help.

I imagine the thought of troubleshooting this setup has already given you a headache, so if you have any ideas I can use to maybe check a diagnostic log or something to get an idea of the issue, I'd appreciate it. I can't imagine the amount of potential video conflicts that software like this would encounter, so I can understand that it might not be fixable.

Check to be sure there is sufficient cooling in your case.

Also check if you have Recount, just make sure that isn't on there.

Cooling and RAM are probably the 2 big things. Try downclocking your RAM a bit, it can cause issues to sometimes happen less often. Also, make sure your GPUs RAM is cooled.

I'm not overclocking and I disabled Recount, no help there.

Not enough power/lack of cooling could also be the culprit. Having the monitors lock up sounds like it would be a hardware issue IMO.

Think you're right. I checked the system logs and see that the AMD display driver is crashing and recovering. I've tried various drivers, it may just be underpowered for the way I'm using it.

What are your specs? Just your CPU, GPU and RAM, both speed at type (i.e DDR3 SDRAM), along with how many watts your power supply unit is.
