Login Turns Music On

I'm a new user to Pwnboxer so the learning curve is vertical but I'm getting there and having a blast. However, when I start my two games and login Pwnboxer turns on the music in both. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that will fix this?

Did you check the 'Disable Sound' box in the game definition dialog - the green tick icon in the main pwnboxer screen?

Yes, I tried the "Disable Sound" option. And it turns off ALL sounds, not just the music. This is not a show stopper type of problem but it is annoying

Hey there,

Yup the Disable sound disables all the sound, which is meant to turn off sound completely on your ALT guys, but not on you main one. Having 5x garbled special affects/background music is really annoying, so this fixes that

I believe the OP is saying Pwnboxer turns SOUNDS off properly but his WoWs are configured to have the MUSIC off also, and Pwnboxer is turning the MUSIC on.

TheMuffinMan has it correct. I don't play with the music on (it drives me nuts) and when I use Pwnboxer it turns the music on in both games, or one game depending on how I have the "Disable Sound" option set.

Maybe this is a feature, lol (just kidding). Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this and if it's fixable. I can live with it if it's not fixable.

Okay I'm a bit confused

So Pwnboxer has it set to the sound is off. This works for you? But if you have a specific in-game option set to off, then Pwnboxer turns the sound back on?

To help could you sort of lay it out step-by-step so I can reproduce, this way I can fix it right away

"Sounds" and "Music" are 2 completely different settings in WoW.

Here is the results of my testing:

This is what my setup normally looks like in WoW when using PB. I like the music/sound and NEVER use the "turn sound off" feature.

Here is a screenshot of my sound settings:


When I go into the game setup in PB for my WoW and check "Disable Sound" this is the results:

it adds these 2 lines to my config.wtf file:
SET Sound_EnableMusic "0"
SET Sound_EnableSFX "0"

And here is the resulting in game screenshot:


You can see a few settings are still enabled.

When I open up WoW outside of PB disabled all the sound settings that are left this is the result:

My config.wtf file now has these lines in it (in addition to the previous lines)
SET Sound_EnableAmbience "0"
SET Sound_EnableAllSound "0"
SET Sound_EnableDSPEffects "0"

And here is the in game screenshot:


I will note here that my results DID (even with PB not turning off all "sound" settings properly) differ than the OPs claims. At no point after choosing the "Disbaled Sound" option in PB did my Music come back on in game.

Muffin, yup that is exactly correct with how things work. I'm confused, where is the issue with this? That is the part I'm stuck on

Thanks for the step-by-step, you confirmed what I'm seeing in that PB correctly sets those 2 lines in the WoW config to disable music/sound.
