The line between legitimate and illegitimate multiboxing software is very hard to get back from, once you've crossed it. The taint from even a rumor that the use of a particular third party program is getting you banned from the game is very hard to get off.

The feature has been in IS Boxer for a couple of months now. No one has been banned for using it. About a hundred boxers have the IS Boxer badge on the other site, but only Lax would know the actual number who use it with warcraft. There is no unattended play. You cannot loop actions, delay actions or such. Which is the main concern from Blizzards perspective. But I respect that each software chooses what to include, or not include, in their product.

I can say that almost ten thousand users are Pwnboxing away happily, and while I would love to add all sorts of techie type of features, I simply just can't add something and then assume it is OK just because a couple of months has gone by. I guess it is because I'm so personally involved with multiboxing. I absolutely LOVE playing WoW multibox style and I really don't know what I would do if my accounts got the hammer. My vote will always be towards safety when it comes to areas that are gray. If it means less people buy Pwnboxer because they want something more risky, I'm totally fine with doing that. I'm not here to make a bazillion dollars. I'm here to offer people a tool to make their gaming more fun. Having banned accounts isn't fun. But even with that said, if I can somehow get confirmation that thing are OK, I'd be happy to add all sorts of new features including this one. I stand by my statement that anything people want added to Pwnboxer will be added, provided of course that the feature makes sense. The key mapping for "FTL" was added directly due to user feedback. So was the dockable clickmapping, which IMO is one of the greatest features ever. I'm working on yet another absolutely major upgrade to Pwnboxer right now, and this mindblowing new feature was actually recommended by a disabled gamer looking to multibox. Ualaa you're an immense source of knowledge when it comes to multiboxing. Any ideas on how we could go abouts getting clarification from Blizzard? I could easily ask Blizzard employees using Pwnboxer, but that wouldn't give the public clarification that we really need. Thoughts? As long as it makes sense, it will be added to Pwnboxer. Making sense means both featureful and safe.

Ten thousand, give or take, is quite a few users. You'd pretty much need a developer to say yes or no, for it to count. Not sure how you'd go about getting that. A GM/Blue poster can give you whatever stance the developers have in general, but you'd need an actual developer to make a decision on anything. Several years ago, they said Keyclone (in a much more limited form then the current) was ok to box with. At that point, it was exclusively press a button and have the same button broadcast to each client, nothing more. Since then, they have not said any product is ok or not ok to use. Nor have they really said much besides, one action cannot get you more then one action per client. Not that they define what an action is. They've never said mouse broadcasting is ok, key remapping is ok, PiP or window swapping is ok, FTL is ok, etc... I have a dyslexic friend who uses speech to text (built into vista/win7) but they haven't said that is ok either. Anything beyond straight key replication is questionable. Not saying it's wrong or will get you into trouble, but also not saying it has approval either. As long as we have to physically be at our computer, and are in control of what our toons do, we're probably ok. From screenshots of text conversations with GM's, quite a few of them do box. And its safe to assume they use assorted boxing software. There was one screenshot, where a boxer had been reported, and the GM basically popped in to verify that there was a player controlling each toon. The GM then asked if the boxer had any tips on how to set up something in keyclone. I'd imagine Blizzard is fairly aware of what each of the boxing software options are capable of doing.
