| I need some help here. I am sure this has been asked before and I am sure there is a simple fix for it but I have yet to think of it. Lets say I have bar one slot one mapped to 1 on all of my toons and the mount macro is on that key bind. Lets also say that Shift 1 is bound to cast flash heal on my tank. Everything works great until I hit shift 1....the healer cast the heal but all of my other toons mount up. What am i doing wrong here? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance |

| I had this problem aswell, when I used Shift+1 or whatever, my main pressed 1 because it didn't have anything binded to Shift+1 (pretty stupid decision by Blizzard's developer if you ask me). And as mentioned above, its easly fixed my binding Shift+1 to a blank button.

| Not a stupid decision; it's the basis of the ability to use modifiers in macros. If you had to explicitly bind to each combination of shift, ctrl & alt for different behaviours, you'd rapidly run out of macro and actionbar slots in the default UI.

| The easy solution is to take an addon like Outfitter. You have the option to hotkey up to 10 outfits. If you were to bind Shift 1, to the clients which have no macro on the Shift 1 bind. Then when you hit Shift 1, they are doing their Shift 1 action (outfit change), but with no outfit configured, they're actually doing nothing. Otherwise, Shift 1 and 1 are the same thing for the other toons. Alternatively, you could bind their action to: /cast [nomod:shift] Whatever /use [mod:alt, nomod:ctrl, shift] ItemName And thereby tell them to not do anything, if this mod is held. Since they're not supposed to do anything when you press the mod for the other toon. Depending on your software, this might not even be an issue. When I press Shift 1, it only sends Shift 1 to the clients I've configured. Which actually messed me up for a while. I had a bind on 1. And wanted to modify the macro to do something different on Alt + 1. But pressing Alt + 1, did nothing at all. Then I made a mapped key for Alt + 1, in addition to the existing mapped key for 1. And they both work. There may be a software solution to your issue, if the above macro options aren't your preference. |
