| First off, I'm new to Pwnboxer, So, Hello! Second, I'm having a pretty frustrating issue getting things started. I'm trying to setup a 5 man group. I followed the instructions in the 5 Minutes or less video, so I'm fairly sure the settings are all correct. But. I notice right away, something isn't right.. When I click to launch the games, Pwnboxer does nothing. Now before you ask me to check my game paths, Ill say, Those are perfectly fine. I know, because, If I click to Close all games, Then Hit Start all games again, It starts launching them. The problem lies in when I hit Start the first time, Nothing. If i Hit close, All kinds of things go wrong, Explorer Crashes, My computer soft locks, and I die a little inside. If I hit start again, It starts launching WoW, but once it gets to about the Third instance. Black screen. Computer is still running, But its like the GPU just stops. No way to recover from that. Must hard Shut down/Restart Button it. I did Update my Video drivers, to see if that was the issue, No dice. Still does it. Is this a problem that is Known to happen if I miss a step? Is there something else I'm missing? Kinda bummed, I really want to get started having some fun.. *Edit*; So After doing a lot of getting angry, some swearing, a little drinking. I'm pretty sure I solved my problem. I was convinced it was my machine, and sure enough, I swapped out my 9800GX2's for my old 8800 Ultras.. and Bam. Works fine. Go figure.. I'm gonna do some digging, since I now believe my 9800's, or at least one of them, is bad. Anyway, It was the GPUs. So I'm up and in the game, Figuring out things now.. | Hey there, yup I see you figured out it was your video cards. My guess is actually its the upper RAM areas of your GPU that could be having problems. I've had this problem myself and actually found out that I simply needed to up the voltage to my GPU as the memory core was being undervolted. Of course be careful in what you do yadda yadda, but yea, sounds like something that I ran into myself a looooong time ago (I had an 8800 GTX Nvidia card). |

| I didn't even think of looking at that. What Program did you use to mess with the Voltages? The 9600GT apparently has Huge issues with the Voltages, as I've since done some reading (And the Cards passed a basic Stress test/Prime95 pass.). I was Looking at Rivatuner, since nTune just looks a bit less useful.. I guess Its Trial and Error with Figuring out the Voltages? I Might just stick with the 8800's.. But I'd rather keep them in the rig I had to pull them out of.. Blah. I guess ill try to figure out how/what voltages will solve the issue.. I really don't want to do these voltmods i've seen floating around.. Soldering does not make me comfortable. |
