Default Dreich, 2nd window freezing in combat

Just started to multibox tonight and have watched the instructional videos. Using Pwnboxer. When I enter combat the second window freezes. Have used more than 2 WoW clients before without any issues running at the same time although not multiboxing. So wondering why when using pwnboxer the 2nd client freezes.

Thanks.

Are you using windows 7 under 64bit? or vista under 64 bit? If so run it under Administrator. That might help.

System is windows 7 / 64 bit OS. Trid running it under admin doesn't help. Lowered the fps yesterday of the 2nd window and didn't help either :s.

How about the resolution? I know its probably not the case, but try doing it on the lowest setting too, lowest graphics both clients, then maybe it'll run, shouldn't be the case however, but worth a check.

Also do you have two different folders for wow? Some have said that it helps with latency, but I think its a bunch of bull. Wow is designed to run multiple instances under one install without issue. I have never had more than one folder for wow while multiboxing and I have 5 accounts. If you have two folders or more, then try running it under the one install only. Also go to the wow.exe file and make sure to set it to run as admin as well, and run pwnboxer again, also as admin still, so when you load wow through pwnboxer it will run also as admin so no conflicts if any will arise.

Failing that, tim should reply to this thread shortly and perhaps he'll run a private troubleshooting session with you, via skype. He's done it before, and even in the most difficult cases has had success with helping people.

Yeah I had 2 folders for WoW but had run it from 1 before with the same results and have just retried that and again the 2nd window just freezes. Had everything at the lowest and run as admin. It's an i7 processor so should handle it easily, as I previously said I've run 3 WoWs before at the same time with no issues just doesn't seem to like this method :s

A few things you might want to try:
1: make sure you set CPU affinity to different threads.
2: if u got 2 monitors, set both to be full resolution on 2 screens
3: try running the 2nd game client minimized.
4: try with both windows having the same aspect ratio as the default for wow (like 800x600 = 4x3, 1280x720 = 16x9)

Thats everything i can come up with.
If 2 games without pwnboxer works, and non of this makes a difference, please let us have a look at your pwnboxer.pbcfg or whatever ur config file is renamed to. Make sure you remove the battle.net logins first

Make sure you aren't using the Recount addon.

Ah I was. Works now thanks. Feel like an idiot now, thought maybe it was because I was testing on dwarves.

Yeah testing on dwarves can cause all sorts of problems, lack of efficency, loss in intelligence, and many other symptoms. Should you have been playing a dwarf either one or multiple different toons, then seek your horde doctor for a remedy.

Also I run recount on all 5 of my clients, its important to keep your addons updated however, though I have had no issues while running recount. I don't know why Tim you have issues with it, but it works fine with me, and I've seen streams of other multiboxers using recount as well. Not sure what the problem would be with how recount is working on your machine.

Haha Drar, yea dwarfs probably have really, really thick skulls. Big heads indeed, but when your skull is 6 inches thick, that doesn't leave very much room for the brain...

@Dreich Yea I actually worked with a particular person @ Blizzard about the recount problem. The issue is actually due to how recount writes a buffer file (for when you log out/back in, and see prior party data) as well as how it draws the real-time graphs on your WoW window. Because of how Recount works, the likelyhood of WoW crashing when running multiple WoWs drastically goes up, especially if your WoWs are initially launched close to one another timewise on your PC. Which, considering Pwnboxer fires up all your WoWs pretty fast, is likely to happen.

However, for best performance, you might want to do what I do:

1x WoW install for my "main" which has recount
1x WoW install that has all the other "sub" accounts

This way your main WoW can have auctioneer, recount, and other memory/cpu hogs, without having to worry about those addons/disabling addons/etc on your sub wow accounts.

Works like a charm for me
