Default Activation is beyond obscene

Im sorry, i think you make a fantastic product, but your licensing is horrible. It really bothers me that I have to phone home everytime I run the program. I guarantee you that you lose more customers at the end of the year then you will gain. I added a hard drive to my machine and pwnboxer deactivated. What the hell is that? Your greed and fear of piracy has turned what was a nice experience into a painful reminder of how insanely greedy and downright disrespectful software devs can be. I paid for my product, it should be mine, I should be able to time shift it to other computers. I am very upset that I actually paid you money for this and will be EAGERLY awaiting a crack. I am a paying customer and you have turned me to look for pirated copies.

I watched the justin.Tv feeds for like a week and thought it was a very cool idea, but you've ruined it with your overly draconian licensing.A software of this type should never be subject to perpetual licensing. It is certainly not a service, even though you treat it as one.

Now that is done, how do i transition my license to an XP build since my Win7 activation is now invalid. will I have to reactivate if, at a later date I slightly change my hardware again? Can I reactivate it on the current Win7 build with the new hardware? (LOL I INSTALLED A REMOVABLE HARD DRIVE YOU JERKS). Fix this, now.

Id like to add, why does software trip up on boot loaders? WTF are you doing that REQUIRES a Windows MBR? I have DEEP concerns with your software and will be submitting complaints to the Free Software Foundation. In the meantime I expect the product that I paid for to be fixed. I know piracy is bad, but its THE PAYING CUSTOMERS WHO SUFFER.

"Creative" use of the word 'greed' considering all of these issues (no matter how overblown in this case) are worked through completely free of cost. You're provided with a constantly updated and supported multiboxing tool for about $1.50/month. Most of the rest of that was non-sensical jibberish.

Really dont want to get into a flame war, but this type of software should be a standalone product, not SaaS. If i want to update to new features next year by buying a new version that is one thing, but to be staring at another $20.00 yearly fee every year for 'updates' and per use authorization? No thank you. Not to mention it deactivates on a slight hardware change and is mucking around in the MBR, all of which is COMPLETELY unnecessary to the functionality of the product and wholly to do with trying to milk the customer base.

I did NOT miss that Win 7 is not supported yet, in my OP, I asked how do I transition my license to an XP build?

Well i fixed it by removing the 'offending' hard drive and reactivating. The fact that you guys defend this kind of practice is sad. Tim, WAKE UP, people are going to add/remove hardware, i shouldn't have to call you for permission to install a bigger hard drive. Very very disappointed. I could understand a mobo change, but ADDING A NON OS hard drive??? come on.

I have 3 removable hard drive bays in my machine for various levels of security, will the software deactivate every time i change my storage subsystem arrangement?

im not sure how the pc id is determent , but i installed this hdd after activating pwnboxer and it didn't change my id, so maybe its only certain type of hdd that changes it
(im starting to think drivers could be causing it)

Regardless of what caused it, its unacceptable behavior from a utility software. I would have GLADLY paid more for the software if only to have a permanent license and not be forced to call home everyday. The people that use this software are generally going to be more technically inclined, not to mention that most are going to find the need to install more hard drives to support 5 boxing. I know some people run them all from one hard drive, but I like to split up the load.

Just a final note. The hard drive that caused the deactivation is a laptop drive in a special case (Vantec EZ-SWAP EX) that slides into a bay in my machine via sata, but when removed also has a mini usb port for USB access as well. Once I removed the Hard drive from the SATA bus, and connected it via USB, Pwnboxer had no issues. This can be a major design issue with the rise in Esata peripherals.

It jsut seems like the software is set to fail on too many conditions and its default state is deactivation. I had to reactivate when the hardware returned to its original state instead of Pwnboxer recognizing it on its own. I will be spreading this message to the multi-boxer community that you merely rent this software and that its setup to fail on some very slight conditions, and treats paying customers like criminals. I dont think I would be so vocal if i didnt like the software so much, please keep that in mind.
