Default The Lich King is finally dead!

Me playing 1 Paladin and 8 Shamans and a friend playing 1 Shaman, we finally managed to down the Lich King on normal mode! This was done in semi-bad gear.

The paladin having ilevel 373, 5 shamans having ilevel ~345 and my other 4 shamans having ilevel ~328. My friends shaman had ilevel 383.

Took about 8 wipes, but the title is ours!

Pic or it didn't happen!

Hell yea man! Congrats! As a multiboxer, doing raid content is pretty much the witches nipple. Or something like that. How does that phrase go?

Just curious, how much loot does it drop for each person, and overall, any BOEs?

We got about 12G each, so I guess he dropped ~120G

I haven't really looked into the loot table, I know he does drop a mount but not sure if it also drops in 10-man normal.

We got a 2-handed mace and a crossbow this time, will return tomorrow to slay him again. Vendor boht of them for a profit of ~60-70G. :P

Well, there you go. :P

Still worth the fight, mount or no mount. Pretty easy though, barerly any movement required except for that damn Defile and to move the diseased person out of the raid.

nice job ! I would love to get that title. I think when new expension comes out, we gonna be able to 5 man it. I'm happy myself i downed Malygos bymyself but no gold there, got the title frozen waste.

I think it could be done with five as it is, actually.

Most of my shamans were doing about 8-10,000 DPS through the entire fight. Only those with the highest item level were able to reach 12,000.

So, if you get enough DPS out of your group - and have a decent tank and healer (trust me, you need a healer xD) - it should be quite doable.

Preferably, since the encounter randomly grabs a person and carries him/her off the platform (which I ignored and let the grabbed person go), having 5 DPS along with a tank and a healer should easily be able to do it.

The only issue really is Defile, but I handled it by running my shamans forward 0.1 seconds before Lich King finished casting it and I managed to avoid it perfectly.

Other then that, the disease is easy to handle too. It does jump to another person if one is near the person who has it when the time runs out on it - so I just ran the shaman out who was afflicted by it and when the time ran out on the timer - it was gone.

Just stack on the stairs at where LK sits, I started with the shamans at the very top and moved them down on Defile. Tank was standing just beneath the stairs, and I zerged the LK until he ran to the middle. Upon that moment, the tank stepped up on the stairs. Adds killing prio is Ice Sphere > Raging Spirit > the rest. And once LK return, keep zerging him until he runs the the center again. Eventually, win!

Depends on how fast you can clear it. Took us a good 2 hours, with a couple of wipes here and there.

I have to admit that the LK himself is alot easier than a few of the other encounters, so some takes even longer then LK - even if he has 30 mil HP on 10 normal. :P
