Question Avatars

Is anybody allowed to use them on these forums? I go to "Edit Avatar" and the only option is "Do not use an avatar"

I think there should be two places you need to check.

1) Go to your vb options inside of your admin panel> User picture options and select Avatars enabled yes.

2) Also check under the usergroups> usergroup manager> *group you wish to edit*> scroll down the page and you should see "Picture Uploading Permissions" and select yes where it says "Can Upload Custom Avatars" (also animated avatar is under that if you wish to allow that as well).

I hope that helps.

P.S Just from past experience I would set the max allowed size as well (you will see where under where you selected yes in Picture Uploading Permissions). Users tend to upload really large pictures at times that like to break vb. I personally set them to 90x80 and make them like it.

I need this option.

My avatar for these boards:
A panda with a big 'Do not' symbol on it and a tag that says 'not Ling-Ling'. On that end, looking for artist to work on said avatar. I pay in props and shout-out (its as good as cash or a seriously OC'd machine, amirite?)

I don't have much recent experience with VB, so I don't know how much it has changed, but that seems to be what you should do.

If I remember correctly, that option actually turns on the use of Avatars (to make default ones uploaded by the forum admin selectable. Which it seems to be considering "edit avatar" is showing inside of the user CP) but the other actually allows people to upload a custom one. I think the option inside of the VB options is actually turned on by default but isn't for the usergroup (it has been awhile since I have actually installed VB).
