Default Will SSD / high end card like GTX 580 help boost stream fps?

Hi guys, i'm new here to this forums. I just have a couple questions regarding about live HD streaming. Would SSD and / or a high end video card help boost the stream FPS? assuming with a i7 2600k cpu and 12g of ram.

With an i7, I doubt you should have an issue with stream FPS. What's your upload speed like?

I think you should be fine. I assume you have a pretty decent graphics card? A pretty high-end one?

Doesn't stream has to render the frames somewhere on the hard drive before sending them off to the stream server? That's why I want to know if a fast drive like an SSD will help

Have you already tried streaming with your setup? If so, what FPS did you get, and did you try bumping up the FPS in the .bat file and VHScrCap. If not, give it a try and see what you get.

A GTX 465 is pretty-high end. A small step up from the GTX460 I have in my system.

Im streaming World of warcraft. The resolution im playing is 1920 -1080 and I'm streaming to 1280-720. I put the fps to about 20 but most of the time it doens't go up to 20. It's around 15fps or less (im talking about the stream fps from the stats window of FME) I tried both H264 and VP6. I thought H264 not suppose to drop the fps? but just lower the quality of the stream?

Ideally you should try and aim for 29.97 fps configuration in both VHScrCap and FME. that may seem to be an odd number however that's NTSC specification framefrate which most if not all video processing devices are native to if not more compatible with.

If you still cant get close to 29.97 fps I'd suggest trying some tuning in FME using the gui to stream or you may have a need to look at doing some performance tuning on your os install like running an auto defragger like diskeeper ( this does help me greatly with lower i/o latency in windows systems )

I have an i7 920 i've never overclocked ( have no need to overclock it ) with sli 480 gtx cards and with both VHScrCap and FME set to 29.97 fps as my target output and input framefrates it's usually rock solid on 29.97 fps. one other thing I usually do that I find helps lower fps lag is running wow with DX11 which alone increases my in game fps with vsync disabled to well over 130fps. ensuring you have the latest Direct X runtime installed could have a big effect on how positive your results will be also... direct x is a major component involved in making the whole video and audio processing subsystem in windows function properly.

As tim once described it installing vhscrcap is like installing a shunt in between your video output that doubles the processing time needed and the amount of video frames created. which could simply put be described as duplexing. If the generated source for this shunt has a low potential capacity to "feed the raging rapids" you'll end up starving your shunt of video frames resulting in low fps being streamed to your destination via fme.

For some reason I think a higher end video card or cards will help. Cause seem like u and tim both have gtx 480 and even two of them in SLI. I know it sounds weird cause i know live streaming should be mainly based on the CPU and upload bandwidth but so far that's what I think.

Oh btw, what do you and Tim using? H264 or VP6?
