| Under my RAM, I currently have 12g installed, yet it is telling me that I have 2.99g available. Am i missing something here, or is it some stupid Windows limit thing? |

| I would guess you have a 32-bit version of windows. A 32-bit operating system can use just under 4 gigs of total ram, which includes video ram, sound ram etc., along with the system memory. A 64-bit operating system will see all of your ram. |

| It wont see ALL your RAM, just the first 18,446,744,073,709,551,616 bytes of RAM.

| But what happens when he has 17,179,869,184 GB of RAM. Then we'll be having a huge issue.

| Senior Member | No. A Full format/reinstall would be required.

| Super Moderator | The disc Windows came on might have a 64-bit option when you install it. You'll need to back everything up and install a new copy of Windows, this time choosing the 64-bit option. Worst case: you need to buy another copy of Windows 64-bit.
