Default OS Question

Feeling like a comp noob with this question, but

is it possible to upgrade from Windows Professional 32-bit to Ultimate 64-bit?

Currently, im using an Intel i7 for processor, with 8 gigs of RAM going to waste =/

If your wanting to buy the upgrade version, this will not work.
You'll have to buy the full version of 64-bit and install it. which means backing up and data on your OS drive that you want to keep.
