| oK so i finally got my new system intel i7 950 gtx 460 1g 6 gb ram when i play wow it seems laggy when i turn and when i press recommend settings it puts me on good settings which is half way. even on low it sometimes twiches when i turn. Surely i should be able to play on high or ultra setting with this setup. i havnt built a system for 15 years so is there any bios settings or otherwise for my graphics card that i need to tweak. also when i use dxdiag to check my graphics card it says 3804 approx memory dont understand why as it is a 1 gb card, i assume this is nothing. Pls help all advice welcome |

| i downloaded a new driver and all was good until i went to sleep. i woke up and now my screen has horizontal coloured lines all over it and its unusable as i type this on my laptop. i ran the pc in safe mode and was to the understanding that when you do this it uses onboard vga and not the graphics card then i installed old driver that came with the card but to no avail. any solutions would be greatfully recieved. someone once said happiness is a cigar called hamlet. if thats true then sadness is a new system trying to fail. pls help me before i suffer |

| Super Moderator | Hmm, I can think of a few resolutions. First, be sure your system is free of viruses. If your system is clean, the issue might be your video card. It could be faulty or overheating. Be sure the fan is spinning properly.

| the fan was working before it went funny i remember checking, also the software i got said it was around 20 degrees which i assume is not overheating. i did a format and re installed win so virus shouldnt be a problem. seen as it was working for at least a day should i rule out a broken graphics port, this is soul destroying |

| Super Moderator | Im guessing you tried a restart already? Do you have a spare monitor lying around? Try plugging it in to see if you have a faulty monitor. If the lines are still there, your video card might have bitten it, regardless if it worked the day before. If possible, try your video card in another computer. I know this might be an issue, as the GTX 460 is a monster of a card (I know because I have one in my system). Since you mentioned the lines were horizontal, I believe I can rule out faulty RAM.
