Default Network cable

Hey guys,

Just had to move my pc into the attic room and my wireless signal can sometimes be a bit hit and miss .

Considering running a Cat6 cable down the exterior wall of the house to the kitchen where my router is located.

Now the question is....Would it be ok to run standard Cat6 cable down the outside wall or is there some special exterior cable I should be using?

Cheers in advance

A suggestion: Run 2 Cat6 cables instead of one. This will save you all the tears and pain of having to do it twice if the first cable has an issue down the line.

I've actually done something similar when I lived at my dads, had alittle "house" not connected to the "real house" so we had a cable run between those 2, never failed for me.

when/if you do this make sure you put a "drip loop" right before you bring the cable into the house, the easiest way to explain a drip loop is to just go down like 2-3 inches with your line then come back up..that way when water runs down the line it will drop off before it runs into the house and possible into your router

When this happens, I just electrical tape the new one to the old one, and use the old one as a snake....
