|  my rig 1 I7-2600 3.4 (unlocked for some reason so 8 "cores" 16 GB 1666 mhz memory 2 HD 6870 1GB GPU 2 SSD Force GT 120 GB 1 950W PSU 2 S3 Samsung 1GB for movies  1 Razer lycosa mirror edition keyboard 1 Razer Imperator mouse 1 27" benq LED 2ms (cheap") all on ultra on main - all low on Toons - will drop to 50 fps in AV with Alot! of players in range! other wise i have VS on. | Re: my rig The 8-cores is normal for an i7 2600. You actually have four physical cores and four logical cores (hyper-threading). Many aspects of boxing/multi-tasking benefit from the logical cores, but they should always be paired with a physical core (0/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6/7)... not (1/3/5/7 for the slaves, without an actual physical core on the task). The i7 2600K is unlocked. But the i7 2600 is not. This refers to being able to change the clock speed, if you're going to overclock... which is easy (YouTube videos on this) and gets a substantial boost... But should not be done ever, with the stock (comes with the CPU) cooler. An after-market cooler is highly recommended, and not that expensive, if you want to OC.

| Re: my rig Awesome images man! I have those same Logitech speakers in my bathroom to listen to mp3s while I shower on my phone. Probably TMI, but i love the speakers How is that Antec CPU cooler working out for you? Does it really do better than just a cooling fan? Also, the RAM fans, does that actually help? Cheers! |
