Looking for somebody multiboxing with a Intel Core i5 Quad processor and want to know how well its doing, and I want to know the opinion of weather to get Core i5 or AMD x6 I'm not going for Core i7, so don't mention it! Its not in the budget, I would love to have, but if your not paying for it, i'm a hardware junkie and really only want to hear what people think about these 2 processors, unless ya'll can find something in similiar price. thanks, Fedoranewb

I myself had just upgraded to an AMD Phenom II x6 1055T Hexa-Core 2.80GHz, i haven't multiboxed yet D: though i'm sure it could run way over 5 wows at a time, i've ran 2 WoW's and 1 CSS, and Mafia 2 at the same time, cpu usage was only at 70%

You ran all of those programs with a AMD x6? Ya im a pretty big AMD fan atm, I like the quality and prices, but Intel sometimes is worth going for, especially with both of these 2 processors being the same price. So if I can get some more testimonials about these 2 processors that would be great

If you want you can look at reviews on newegg, i prefer AMD, here are some CPU benchmarks Charts, benchmarks Desktop CPU Charts 2010, 3DMark Vantage High

Ya I have already looked benchmarks and everything, I want a real opinion with Multiboxing and other random stuff that people do with these CPUs, also I have read just about every Newegg review too.

I did a lot of research in the past, and I found that the best CPU deals for the dollar will end up being the i7 720, or the AMD x6, depending on which world you are leaning towards. For the absolute bang-for-buck, the X6 is probably the better choice. I myself am an Intel boi so for me to say that is pretty hard, but the facts pretty much show that performance wise, you can save yourself around $80 if you go for the X6. The only downside is 4 physical memory slot limitation with the AMD X6 (VS 6 memory slots with Intel). Also, the 6 cores on the X6 are nice since, in multiboxing at least, you could assign 2 cores to your main, and 1 core to each of your alt guys. Pretty nice setup imo.

From what I understand, an i5 is pretty much an i7 without hyperthreading. Am I right?

Yup the most bang for your buck at the $200 level is going to be the X6 for sure. Let me know how it goes with multiboxing, definitely very interested to see how it handles 5x of WoWs. Also, are you going to test out streaming to JTV?
